The Makita 12 Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser (model LS1219L) combines capacity, accuracy and efficient dust extraction in a more compact size, with a unique 2-Steel Rail Sliding System that offers a reduced footprint for operation flush against a wall. The innovative direct-drive gearbox and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity of baseboard (6-3/4) and crown molding (8 nested). It will also make 15 crosscuts at 90. The saw miters 0 to 60 left and right, with positive stops at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, 45 and 60 (left or right). The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0 to 48 (left and right). The saw is powered by a 15 Amp direct drive motor with soft start, a key point of difference. Direct drive enables smoother start-ups and consistent, constant power with no belts to slip or replace. The electric brake provides added convenience. In addition, the electronic speed control maintains constant speed under load for smoother, higher-quality cutting.
- Unique 2-steel rail sliding system design offers single slide-glide operation; reduced saw footprint allows operation flush against a wall

Great product! Right out of the box! No adjustments required. Great all around quality. Love the soft startup.

Easy to assemble and is just overall a beast of a saw. Dust collection is the best i have seen yet. Definitely recommend.

Perfect right out of the box! Definitely took some practice and instruction reading to understand all the features and controls. I have been a Makita saw user for over 20 years, they have never disappointed me.

This saw is a winner. It’s operation is smooth and accurate. The dust collection using a vacuum is excellent! This saw is a great Kapex contender, and if you require a 12″ blade, in a class of It’s own. This replaced a Gen 2 Metabo 12″ sliding compound miter saw that also slid forward on fixed rails. The Metabo was noisy, sticky in the slide, and had bad blade runout. It was basically a cheap Chinese copy of the fine Hitachi saws of the past. Sad but true. Buy the Makita and enjoy.

This Mitre saw is an engineering marvel and the operating system is very simple yet extremely accurate. This is my third Makita saw and the improvements from my first to present have exceeded my expectations

This is a well made, professional-grade saw with smooth cutting action. The soft start motor is a nice feature and it comes with a decent quality blade. My only complaint would be the non-standard fitting for the vacuum hose connection. Otherwise, best saw I’ve ever owned.

Saw needs to much fine tuning such as mitre angle, bevel angle and adjusting blade perpendicular.Instruction manual is not clear at all.On top of that when I called customer service you’d get no solid input .They couldn’t help with mitre and bevel adjustments.$700.00 wow.Terrible and rude employees

Makita makes a very high quality tool. I checked all the angles out of the box and they were spot on. I have only done molding so far, so I can’t comment on slide accuracy, but so far I think I made the right choice. Dust collection with a vacuum attached is very good.

I was looking for a new compound slide miter saw that takes up little room so I reviews on this one & bought it the only thing I wish was better is the laser being a little more adjustable so I can set it to where I want it to cut but I’m getting use to it how I have it adjusted otherwise it is a great saw I like the slow start of it not full power right away.

It was a Christmas and birthday gift for my oldest grandson and he says it is great and he loved it.

I am 75 years young and still renovate high end homes. Beyond any doubt, this is the best Miter Saw I have ever owned, lets say 11 (55 years doing this type of work, 1 every 5 years). It operates like silk and I am still learning all that it can do. We do large interior trim jobs that few have ever done or seen. The saw payed for itself and more on the first job. The big bucks that the saw cost earned us about 3 times that much more than past jobs. “Just Do It” and you will never regret the investment (all the way to the Bank).A. Beever

So far with a years use the saw has been amazing!

Far better than the yellow or red competitors. Expect to spend an hour or so on setup: instructions written in English but . . .

I had heard that this saw is fairly easy to adjust if it should have shifted out os square during shipping, however mine arrived absolutely perfectly aligned in all 3 directions. The included saw blade has carbide tips and cuts smooth and fast. Installation of the saw blade is easy enough to look up on you tube if one is not familiar with it. When I installed mine I used a rubber band to retain the saw blade’s protective shield during this process as one seems to need three hand for it otherwise. I love that this saw does not require additional room to the rear like my old Bosch tilting miter saw used to need. That saves me 2 feet in the shop. The design of the machine is meant for right hand dominant folks. The kerf for the blade in the bottom of the base is wide enough to accept the tilt of the saw in every position. I will make a zero clearance replacement bottom kerf guide for my use. The rear top fence must be removed for tilted cuts. I will also replace those with zero clearance wooden rear fences. I have enjoyed Makita tools in the past They are still working reliably even though they are some 40 years old. Hopefully this new saw will be a credit to Makita’s good name.

Big saw but easy to move around for all stages of building homes or personal projects. Same saw, just 20 yrs older and several houses later is still in full use. The compound/ miter ability has been improved on the newer saw.

Makita GREATLY improved the shipping packaging, saw was perfect, box a little dinged up (for store pickup.) Bevel stop was dead square, miter was 0.75 deg off, but using the detents to help set the angle gauge made it perfect fast. Fences very nice and square, dust shoot works shockingly well.
