The Makita 12 In. Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser (model LS1219L) combines capacity, accuracy and efficient dust extraction in a more compact size, with a unique 2-Steel Rail Sliding System that offers a reduced footprint for operation flush against a wall. The innovative direct-drive gearbox and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity of baseboard (6-3/4 in.) and crown molding (8 in. nested). It will also make 15 in. crosscuts at 90°. The saw 0 m to 60 m left and right, with positive stops at 0 m, 15 m, 22.5 m, 31.6 m, 45 m and 60 m (left or right). The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0 to 48 (left and right). The saw is powered by a 15 Amp direct drive motor with soft start, a key point of difference. Direct drive enables smoother start-ups and consistent, constant power with no belts to slip or replace. The electric brake provides added convenience. In addition, the electronic speed control maintains constant speed under load for smoother, higher-quality cutting. This Promotion also comes with a bonus WST06 Compact Folding Miter Saw Stand.

I had heard that this saw is fairly easy to adjust if it should have shifted out os square during shipping, however mine arrived absolutely perfectly aligned in all 3 directions. The included saw blade has carbide tips and cuts smooth and fast. Installation of the saw blade is easy enough to look up on you tube if one is not familiar with it. When I installed mine I used a rubber band to retain the saw blade’s protective shield during this process as one seems to need three hand for it otherwise. I love that this saw does not require additional room to the rear like my old Bosch tilting miter saw used to need. That saves me 2 feet in the shop. The design of the machine is meant for right hand dominant folks. The kerf for the blade in the bottom of the base is wide enough to accept the tilt of the saw in every position. I will make a zero clearance replacement bottom kerf guide for my use. The rear top fence must be removed for tilted cuts. I will also replace those with zero clearance wooden rear fences. I have enjoyed Makita tools in the past They are still working reliably even though they are some 40 years old. Hopefully this new saw will be a credit to Makita’s good name.

The Makita LS1219L is an outstanding mitre saw. The saw did not need any adjustments out of the box. It seems they worked out the issues when they originally released the saw a couple of years ago. Plenty of power and features make this saw an essential for all kinds of carpentry work. I do not regret purchasing this saw and would do it again. Compliments to Home Depot for their online ordering and ease of pickup at the store.

Upgraded from an old miter saw, this this is amazing, didn’t cut perfectly straight out of the box, but after about 3 minutes of tweaking the saw, it cuts perfectly. Very satisfied with the product

A quality saw. I’ve had this saw since 5-29-20.The only concern I have is the abrupt return on the saw after I cut and release> It slams back in place. I also don’t like the way the miter doesn’t lock in place and sometimes will find another setting.Lastly the rubber dust collectors will collide when pushing the saw in the bevel position. I’m still learning all the functions of this saw,but overall I am happy with my purchase and it has met my expectations so far. I like the quiet start of the saw and it cuts very true & straight.

Saw is great. Packaging/shipping substandard. So much damage I photographed but all intact on the inside.

Strong and sturdy. When stand is collapsed with a miter saw attached it is tipping.

Overall the saw is great. High quality materials, the blade that’s included is good for fine cuts. My only complaints are that I expected the laser would illuminate exactly where the blade will cut, but that is not the case. The laser aligns just to the left or right of the blade and you’ve got to compensate your cuts accordingly; certainly not ideal. And lastly, I was expecting the dust collection system to collect more of the saw dust than it does. But overall its super high quality and a great product.

I have been a cabinet, Furniture Builder & Finish Carpenter for 30+years. I have owned and used Many chop saws over the years. I have been using this saw now for about a month. This saw is big & Heavy, but since it is set up permanently in my shop in a dedicated Bench it basically is perfect for my needs. The saw has great dust collection and works well with just a shop vac plugged into an automatic switch. When I turn on the saw the vac comes on as well. The tilt with locking knob up front is much easier than past models that had the mechanism in the back. The Laser is an added bonus.

I have tried the saws that are green and yellow in color. I have read reviews about the makita and I will say this saw is really good quality. Every piece of equipment may have issues because of the buyers lack of or shipping problems. The saw is super well built and cuts are accurate. This was delivered by fedex. Extremely quiet. Less noise than a microwave. I paid $400.00 dollars more than I wanted to but the others had many issues right out of the box. I pull the trigger and cut moulding like a hot knife on warm butter. All of my Makita equipment have been working well for years and should have purchased this first.

The saw is really awesome! I love it. The Makita is above and beyond a better technical saw than the Dewalts, Bosch, and other unmentionables. On a rating scale it is definitely higher in quality and precision than the Dewalt – and very similar in execution to the Festool Kapex. The dust collection is a 6/10. They still need to work on the details. My suggestion is to use a formal shop vacuum for extraction over a shop vac. But I would rate this a 10 over any other brand. Last note. The 10″ for some reason feels more refined and tighter. But the 12″ does the real work. And is super precise.
