After doing extensive research amongst the many makes and models of biscuit joiners on the market Makita stood out. Making tables out of barnwood as a new hobby, I am glad I made this choice.

Only gave this tool only a 4-star solely because of the dust bag. It is too small, and it fits too loosley to the tool. I made only 7 cuts (#20 biscuits) and the bag was full and clogged the throat leading to the bag. The tool itself is first-rate just like the rest of my Makita tools, and if not for the dust bag, I would have rated it a 5-star. Might be a bit overpriced as there are other biscuit cutters out there for under $100, but I’d rather pay more for a quality tool and have it work as advertised right out of the box. Great storage box also.

The plate joiner worked very well to join special corners to a table

Works great except the dust bag always falls off. Easy to use. Wish the button was down by the bottom of the tool

I’ve had this tool about three months best biscuit jointer I’ve ever used, it’s quiet powerful and the slide plate has no up and down play makes for perfect alignment between two pieces of wood

Works great!

I love this tool. My only complaint is the bag fills so quickly and if you don’t empty before it is full you have to expose the blade area to remove the built up shavings.

Well made, works well

I agree the dust collection could be better, however that is not important to me therefore I gave it 5/5. It is a solid machine with an reasonably accurate fence. It it not accurate to 1/64 as I only check to 1/32. It is all in your setup time. Check and recheck and you will get what you want…most of the time! I have thought about other machines at 3x cost but don’t think it is worth it for the volume of work I do. I am pleased with my purchase after more than 4 years with it.

I don’t like all Makita tools, but this one is the best in its kind. Light weight and and very stable.

Solid tool that feels substantial yet nimble when using. Smooth operation when cutting the biscuit. I haven’t cut at any angles besides flush but the angle mechanism and height adjustments feel more than adequate. The dust bag fills up quickly so make sure you have capacity for chip removal. I am not complaining about the size of the bag as I prefer this vs an oversize bag. I may try to connect to shop vac for more stationary projects.

Makita has made this tool so intuitive! And the accuracy is astounding! I reviewed the capabilities of about 4 other plate joiners and none of them came close to the capabilities of my new Makita.
