The Makita 2-1/4 HP Router (RF1101) combines power with convenience and ease-of-use features for improved performance. The RF1101 has a powerful 11-Amp motor with soft start for smoother start-ups and electronic speed control that maintains constant speed under load. The variable speed control dial allows the user to match the speed to the application, with 8,000 – 24,000 RPM. The sub-base accepts industry standard template guides and the durable flat top provides increased stability when changing bits. The RF1101 is engineered with all-ball bearing construction for longer tool life and accepts 1/2 and 1/4 in. shank bits.

Love router, sleek and powerful. I like that there is a speed control and this router has GUTS that bigger routers do not. Depth control is a unique feature that is simple and easy to adjust. Makita has best tools I have ever used. I am not TIRED, but stupid website would not let me change. I am tired of home depot’s incompetence with their websites functionality. Really they should delete their website until they someone competent to run it.

This Makita fixed base router comes with a 1 1/4 base plate center hole. This was exactly what I needed for my dovetail jig. It is quiet and has all the power you’re going to need. Best router I’ve ever owned.
