The Makita 12-Volt MAX CXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Reciprocating saw delivers power and speed in an ultra-compact size for a range of cutting applications. The kit includes two 12-Volt MAX CXT Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries for improved balance and ergonomics over pod-style batteries. For added convenience the batteries include an on-board LED charge level indicator. The RJ03R1 weighs only 2.9 lbs. (with 12-Volt MAX CXT 2.0Ah battery) with a variable speed motor that delivers 0-3,300 strokes per minute and an efficient 1/2 in. stroke length for faster cuts. It’s an ideal solution for users seeking a more compact cutting solution with less weight or for applications in tight spaces. For longer run time, all 12-Volt MAX CXT cordless tools are also compatible with the 12-Volt MAX CXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery (BL1041B). 12-Volt MAX CXT Lithium-Ion batteries are engineered with a Battery Protection Circuit that protects against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating. You get a lot of product for the money (saw, two batteries, charger, a couple of small blades), but the saw vibrates quite a bit compared to other mini reciprocating saws. It’s definitely a two-handed saw, and I was looking for a saw that could be used one-handed.

Not sure “LOVE this tool” will do, I think the best part is just the feel, it’s a part of your own arm, It truly allows you to make one hand cuts without a cord in the way. Great for detail starting & ending cuts, it’s an extension of your hand, it’s just right !

I have only used this saw once, but the results were what I expected. It cuts through hardened steel bolts like butter, and the small compact design made it possible to get to these bolts in a very confined space, with multiple fuel lines in the way. The only other option was a Dremel tool which would have taken a bit longer. If you are a mechanic, I would recommend this saw for those times when nothing else will work in those confined spaces. The 12 volts are fine for my uses as a shade tree mechanic. A must have in my arsenal of tools, I am very happy that I purchased this tool, it will get some use.

Great tool light weight didn’t notice when purchased that it was only 12 volts with smaller batteries,kinda disappointing speed ,top speed is half at least of a electric sawzall ,but I think it will still. Be a valuable tool in my collection

This 12 volt battery powered handheld saw was just what I needed to trim some shrubbery with 1″ to 1 1/2″ limbs. I like that the batteries, charger and saw blades came with it in the carry case for the price of $129. The only thing I bought that was not included was a pruning blade. I have not used it on metal, but I assume it will perform well. Nice handy handheld saw.
