Very compact and lightweight were the 2 reasons I decided to buy it. Main purpose is to trim some small branches (no bigger than 2″ in diameter) around the house. Handsaw is no longer practical for me (did I say I’m getting old?) and takes twice as long to do the same job. The forward on/off switch is a smart idea and helps a lot in controlling the saw while cutting. The battery holds up pretty good and re-charges fairly fast. Just remember that this saw is not designed for heavy duty applications and you won’t be disappointed. Always wear safety glasses and gloves when using power tool!

It’s one of the handiest tools I have. I even bought one for the vacation cottage in Italy. The guide on one does keep working loose but nothing some threadtite won’t cure. Perfect for trimming lower door casings when installing tile.

The little saw is excellent for cutting PVC pipe for plumbing and for small cuts that don’t require the heft of a full size saw. Very light and easy to handle in tight spots.

I only use at home, but they would do well professionally as well, I’m a carpenter and use 18 volt in the job, supplied by company, but the cxt is pro grade

This saw is only a 12 volt but it works sweet! It’s perfect for all the small tasks when you don’t need that big sawz all. The pistol grip trigger is great! A must buy for all those small tasks.

Very nice compact powerful saw. I needed this to cut off some old fuel tank straps in a very cramped area under the cab of my truck. This little guy tackled all three of the straps with ease. Never missed a beat, just cut through the solid steel straps like a hot knife through butter. Best part, I never busted a knuckle. This is a keeper, and the smaller size compared the other brands out there make this a very versatile tool, especially where you cannot get a grinder or full sized sawzall in to work safely. As far as battery life? That was not a real concern as I only had three cuts to make. But, it made the cuts and the battery was still at a full charge. For me, it is not an every day use tool, so when I do need it, I do not believe there will be any issues. And it came with two batteries, and charged quickly. And the case is the usual Makita quality. I would buy again if the need arises. I bought this at my local Home Depot.
