The Makita 12-Volt MAX CXT Compact Job Site Radio (model RM02) delivers rich stereo sound wherever the job takes you. The RM02 is compact and compatible with iPod and MP3 players. It delivers rich stereo sound from two powerful front facing speakers and will run up to 30 hours on a single charge of the 12-Volt MAX CXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery (sold separately). It weighs only 1.7 lbs. with a 4.0Ah battery and has a rotating hook for convenient hanging. It has 10 pre-set FM/AM buttons and includes an earphone jack for private listening. It’s part of the expanding 12-Volt MAX CXT series, combining performance with superior ergonomics in a compact size.

Quality little radio! I was looking for a compact portable radio that i could take to the job site as well as other uses and saw this one and got it because it uses the same battery,s i have for my makita drill set. When i first opened the box i was really surprised how small it is and was thinking well this is going to be a instant return but when i installed one of my battery,s and turned it on i was very impressed by the sound quality and it gets great reception so it went from a probable return to an instant keeper! The hook for hanging it is a extra bonus and is heavy duty built and it fits easly in my makita drill pouch like it was allways meant to be there. It might be a little expensive for what it is but it is a quality little radio and i am actually happy that it is very compact.

Nice and small. Good sound. Built tough. Offers everything needed except no bluetooth. Perfect for what its designed for. I recommend this if bluetooth wifi is not a priority.

I bought this a few weeks back and almost returned it since I have the Makita bluetooth speaker and listen to Apple music mostly. However I kept it and have been enjoying it a lot. Sometimes it is just nice to listen to local news, sports or a classic rock station. No, the sound isnt hifi quality but its radio, what do you expect? If I didnt already have batteries it would not be a good value but for not a lot of money it is a good deal and fun to have along when working.

Outstanding little radio. Unusually good sound for the category. Tunes in stations quite nicely with minimum multiplex issues. The Aux in jack and Headphone jack are thoughtful, but I probably won’t use them. The robust hook/hanger is smart, and there’s an option to add a lanyard if I wish. If I were to lose this radio, I’d buy another one in an instant. Highly recommended.

This radio is smaller than I expected but that’s actually a plus for storage while traveling. We’ll use it primarily for tent camping and as a back-up during power outages at home.I’m impressed with reception and sound. Any station that can be picked up with the car radio can be picked up with the Makita radio. I saw a couple of reviews on another site that complained about reception. The only trouble that I had with reception was when the radio was place very near to other electronics. I moved it to a wooden table top, sitting alone, and it cleared up right away.Sound expectations should be kept within the context of two small speakers side-by-side. It puts out clear and crisp stereo but if you’re expecting surround sound, your expectations are unrealistic. The radio is a great value if you already have CXT power tools with batteries and charger. I would not have bought it if those two expenses were in addition to the cost of the radio.
