With a full 1-1/4 maximum hp and a plunge base included in the kit, the router is engineered for a full range of precision applications. The powerful motor features a variable-speed control dial (10,000-30,000 RPM) that enables the user to match the speed to the application. Additional performance features include electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and a soft start design for smooth startups. The router is double-insulated with a heavy-duty aluminum motor housing for increased durability.

I ordered this router to replace one that cratered. It arrived quickly and I put it to work right away. It performed admirably and was easier to use than the older large router it replaced. I completed the project that it was purchased for and designed and built a box for the router as a second project and used the router on that project as well. I found that the variable speed feature was useful. The depth adjustment on the fixed base and the plunge was easy to set up even though it is a simpler mechanism than the old router.In short, I think that I’ll keep it.
