The powerful motor features a variable-speed control dial (10,000-30,000 RPM) that enables the user to match the speed to the application. Additional performance features include electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and a soft start design for smooth startups. The router is double-insulated with a heavy-duty aluminum motor housing for increased durability.

Great router and very flexible. Can use it by itself as a trim router, on the fixed base as a standard router and as a plunge router. I have been using it constantly for the last few week mostly in my hand building cabinets doors and doing dovetail joints. I did have trouble trying to connect it to my skill router table because the router hole pattern was an available patter on the skill table. Because I like the way it handles, I put my older Craftsman router in the table (which fit). It would be relatively easy to drill the hole pattern for the Skill table, and someday I may. Very nice unit.
