The size and weight of this product is quite good. It is easy to grip the motor when using the circular base and the tool handles well. Compared to several other competitors, this was the easiest compact router to handle with the fixed base that I tried. I think the smaller size and lighter weight would be a real advantage when routing anything horizontally. The plunge base moves up/down smoothly and depth setting is easy. The depth marker is a bit unusual though. The included edge guide works well. Compared to other vendor’s charges for adding an edge guide, it is a nice addition to the kit! I found two serious flaws that led me to return the product.1. On the plunge base, the lock down lever is small and is difficult to engage. It also popped loose on a few tests even after I had applied a fair bit of pressure to lock it down. I found the plunge base of a competitor unit to operate much better in this respect. 2. The depth setting dial and the rules on the fixed base are hard to use. The depth dial does not allow for fine adjustment (too much movement for minor changes in the dial) and it is nearly impossible to see and set it to one of the fixed markings on the rule. If you buy this, assume you will be using a tape measure or other depth setting techniques instead.While not as serious as the above to issues, seeing into the opening on the fixed base is difficult (the side opening and the opening on the bottom are both a bit small. It could be improved by adding a transparent base and LED lights. This is a good unit that could be great if the issues above are addressed. I ended up returning it for another larger diameter unit (disadvantage) that had better depth settings on both the fixed and plunge bases and a much better locking lever on the plunge base.

It is a smooth router with plenty of power. Very nice. I’d give it a five except the plunge base didn’t come with a collet mount and the fixed base requires removal of the base plate to mount the collet guide.
