Beautiful item, If you need to make super accurate crosscuts or even rip cuts then this is the item for you.

Saw was extremely way to set up and use. Great clean cuts. Well worth the money so far. Package was damaged when I received it, but the contents was ok.

Several adjustments needed in order to get a decent cut. The bevel was not at exactly 0/90 degrees, causing a slight bevel on all my cuts. Also, the blade was a couple degrees out of parallel with the rail guide on the base causing quite a bit of burning on relatively thin maple stock I had. After fixing both these issues the saw cuts beautifully. The saw left smooth edges and no chipping on maple veneered plywood and (with a blade change) was able to rip 8/4 maple stock.

This is a great alternative to the Festool plunge saw. Solidly made, accurate, and a nicer colour!Compatible with Festool track, too. Why pay more?

This is a very easy way to cut large plywood. Wife always had to help me on the table saw. We used this and her comment was I should have bought it a long time ago

Forget about all those other saws, it’s time to get the one and only saw you may ever need. It is light, can sit flat on any surface , has plenty of power. . Most importantly it cuts like butter and leaves the cleanest cuts in those expensive plywood purchases and is accurate to the nth degree. I read all the reviews and watched the videos and until you hold it and use it well…. you will see that it is awesomeOther things to note: The case is a large cube like box that has plenty of room for guide rail clamps. Dewalt rail clamps work well with this rail. The rail has blue anti friction like surface strips that let the saw slide smooth and easy. Underneath the rail the rubber strips hold tight to the work surface and prevent the need for clamps but I use the clamps just to be safe. Use a a shop vac with this saw and there is little to no dust.I like this saw so much, I keep inventing ways to use it.Home Depot has the price about what it was selling for almost a year ago. I think that most people are finding that this saw is as good if not better than Fess Tool, and for this reason it is getting harder to find a good price for this saw. So I would not delay and get one ASAP.

I have had the pleasure to use both the Makita and Festool tracksaws. And, although the Festool is clearly the best on the market, the Makita is a very close second at about half the cost. I have been really happy overall with the product and would definitely recommend. It requires a little tuning out of the box to run parallel to the track with no slop but didn’t take much to get accurate. Very nice addition to the shop for squarely crosscutting panels and tops that are too wide for the table saw cross-cut sled.

The items purchased performs as advertised and is a good addition to my tool collection.

For other reviewers (Oscar and 2inmama) This saw has two adjustment screws on the left hand side of the base to ensure no side to side movement when on the track. Also there are adjustment screws to ensure 90 degree and 45 degree cuts are truly accurate. This information can be found in the owner’s guide.

came with a good quality blade plenty of power and track works well FYI clamps are not included

This is an excellent piece of equipment with a short learning curve if you have good experience with circular saws in general. Sawdust is effectively channeled through the port, so attachment of a collection bag or vacuum will keep the work area remarkably clean.

Excellent saw with excellent cut quality. The stock blade exceeded expectations. I am very happy with this saw, although the cord could be a little longer, it is just barely enough but certainly usable.

I bought the saw so I would not have to buy a new table saw to cut down sheet goods for some DIY cabinets and beams in my ceiling. I tested it by first cutting some plywood for shelving for my basement. What a good cut and the track worked beautifully. This was my first time using a track saw, so I really had nothing to compare it to. However, when you think about the same blade doing 4000 + rpms through wood, it would not matter if it were a Festool, a Dewalt or Makita, the wood would give the same results. Just buy and pay for the features you want.

This saw and guide are simple to use the cuts are very clean. It should come with clamps instead of buying seperatly.

I own 6 Makita tools and they are all ruggedly built and provide years of trouble-free service. The Makita SP6000 track saw is no different- it is a joy to use. It has plenty of power and makes perfect cuts. I used it with my son-in law to cut cabinet grade birch plywood for kitchen drawers. The scribing feature allows you to skim the surface of sheet goods to avoid chipping. Cuts are accurate and square. (I am still on good terms with my son-in law).

I use this saw with the guide in a restoration workshop. You should not compare this to contractor or residential quality tools. It is designed for precision work with a corresponding price. However, you will need the rail guide to get the full benefit of the saw. The cost is offset by the ease of use and accuracy of the cuts. I find it so useful I am considering purchasing one for my home workshop.

This is a good product for the price. The plastic upper saw parts are a concern if dropped. The 118 in long track is not priced competitively priced and the delivery charge is expensive compared to competitive sources with free shipping

Had a rocky start (not Makita’s fault…100% HomeDepot), because I’d ordered this on-line for delivery to my local HomeDepot. It took a LONG time to get there, than arrived with a damaged track, which took even longer to replace. I don’t think I’ll try that again. The good- The saw is nicely balanced, love the soft start and the rapid blade stop. Also, the speed control seems to work well, holding blade RPM pretty constant under load. The cut is very clean and approaches the results of my high-end cabinet table saw, band moving the saw down the track is vastly easier than trying to break down panels on the table saw. Also, I no longer have to do rough cut with my vintage circular saw, then clean up on the table saw…the first cut is the finish cut! Results (and features I care about) are similar to a good friend’s vastly more expensive track saw, but at around half the price, so I’m glad I made this choice. The not so good- This saw has LOTS of knobs and the manual is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Thank goodness for youTube videos, which explain the set up and operation 500% better than the manual. Also, all the settings are in metric only, which I never use, so it does require bringing in gauges and rules for set-up. Unfortunately, Makita seems to have a blade diameter of their own, so my favorite blade manufacturer’s replacement blade throws off the settings even further, and pretty much disables the convenient scoring-cut button. Lastly, the track rocks a bit, which seems due to the pads not being at consistent height. That’s not a huge problem (one layer of tape fixed it) but shouldn’t be necessary.

I had to contact Makita twice to get new rails sent out because they were warped from shipping. That last one they sent was warped as well. If you clamp it down, I guess it matters less, but they need to iron out these details themselves, not have their customers think of the solution for them. In the end, I got to keep all of the rails, which was nice. The saw itself is of high quality. I do not care for the brake in the saw, and it sounds like screeching when it comes to a stop if you are not making longer cuts, but I have been told this is normal. If I had to go back in time, I would not buy this again, and would by the Dewalt FlexVolt track saw. It is superior in every way, and is cordless. When I get the chance, I will sell this and hopefully find a deal on the Dewalt FlexVolt track saw.
