Great addition to the workshop. Break down large heavy 8×4 plywood safely and accurately on the floor on top of a sheet of insulation foam or on workhorses. This saw system is accurate and cuts with zero to minimal tear out. There is no need to resaw broke down panels further on the table saw. When connected to your shop vac the dust collection is great, much better than a tablesaw. This plunge saw is NOT your regular circular saw either, it’s a completely different beast.

First and foremost this is a high quality accurate tool which is extremely versatile in many applications, as a custom woodworker in have wanted a track saw for a long time and finally was able to pull the trigger and get one a few weeks back. Let me tell you how much easier this has made my life in my workshop, already it had increased my productivity in my workshop as i used this saw to square up boards to glue up in 2 barn doors as well have used it to square up 2 live edge slabs which needed perfectly square egdes, cut through those 2” thick slabs like butter and left super clean and smooth end grain which led to less sanding time. Not only has it performed amazing purchasing it through Home Depot, i got a better price than from Another online site and it was delivered within a week as The other online site was going to take over 3 weeks. No doubt this has been a great purchase and will recommend this product, i would like to thank Home Depot for getting it to me so i could put it to use immediately to get my commissioned projects finished quicly

I’ve had the Makita track saw system for about a year now. I haven’t used it much due to the fact that I have a panel saw in my shop. But it being recently sold I’ve had much more need to use this system with it’s guide rails for breaking down sheet stock. Having now had significant usage, I can knowledgeably put forward this review. I concur with one other reviewer on this website that the rails are not always consistent in their measurement tolerances which create problems in performance. Specifically the actual rail that the saw sits on can vary in width form rail to rail which creates problems getting mulitple rails aligned so the saw tracks smoothly from rail to rail. Makita’s manufacturing tolerances could certainly use some attention here. With the rails I have I had to do some filing of the guide track at the joining ends to get them to track smoothly and loosen the two knobs on the saw base that adjust tension on the track. Another very important thing I discovered is that your not likely to get a 90 degree cut if you adjust the blade to the saw base. To insure a 90 degree cut you must adjust the blade while it sits on the track. I did this by laying the track on a flat piece of sheet stock and securing it with clamps made to fasten underneath the rail( accessory purchase), letting one end hang off farther than the other so you can set your saw in it’s track . Be sure your batteries are removed for safety and adjust the blade to cut to it’s full depth. Then while holding the saw in it’s depressed cutting position with one hand you can hold a square underneath the track with the other hand to check for a 90 degree track/blade angle. Angle can be adjusted by turning the two screws up or down that are located underneath the saw base. It probably took me a good 30 minutes or more to do this as its a trial and error process, but very necessary if you want accurate square cuts. Your not done yet ! You can’t assume that the the two rails will be perfectly straight when butt joining them together. You may need to leave a very slight gap between them to allow for slight adjustments to get an accurate straightness. Once I put forth all these efforts I was able to get a pretty nice straight 90 degree cut.

Bought Makita track saw kit online. It came in four different packages and arrived several days apart. After some test cuts, I came to the conclusion that the track saw itself has some flaw. Whatever sheet goods I cut, the saw generates burn smell and leaves burn mark on the saw side of the edge. I tried different wood/plywoord, different thickness, with/without the track. Always the same results, burn smell and burn marks. I can see the burn mark the inner side of the blade as well, sparkling clean on the other side of the blade.I like the design and features of this saw and it cuts very straight. I believe I am just unlucky to get a bad unit. Will ask for a replacement.

Absolutely love my Makita track saw!

This track was not available at stores in my area, so I ordered it online. In reviews, people were complaining on receiving those with transportation damages, like either being bend or untrue. So I ordered it be shipped to store, so I could inspect at pickup desk in store. Everything turned out fine

Great track. It’s the same as the Festool tracks but cheaper

This track works great with the saw. The track has a good weight and you can use it most times without the clamps. The track saw itself is a game changer.

Great tool. It stands up to what was said in all of the reviews that I read regarding this tool. Im really satisfied with it. The grip pads hold up pretty well but I do wish it came with the clamps just for a better piece of mind when making your cut.
