ngo problem with saw, track does not sit flat,anti-skid pads on bottom of track are thicker than the splinter guard strip causes saw to wobble hard to saw a straight line.

Why I didn’t take the plunge into this saw sooner…. so easy and accurate, I’ll never cut sheet goods any other way, a life saver.

This is a very easy way to cut large plywood. Wife always had to help me on the table saw. We used this and her comment was I should have bought it a long time ago

Nice cuts. Good dust extraction. Very happy with this saw.

Fantastic saw, great accuracy. Recommend getting a TSO parallel edge square to use with it.

I had to contact Makita twice to get new rails sent out because they were warped from shipping. That last one they sent was warped as well. If you clamp it down, I guess it matters less, but they need to iron out these details themselves, not have their customers think of the solution for them. In the end, I got to keep all of the rails, which was nice. The saw itself is of high quality. I do not care for the brake in the saw, and it sounds like screeching when it comes to a stop if you are not making longer cuts, but I have been told this is normal. If I had to go back in time, I would not buy this again, and would by the Dewalt FlexVolt track saw. It is superior in every way, and is cordless. When I get the chance, I will sell this and hopefully find a deal on the Dewalt FlexVolt track saw.

I have watched the Festol brand saw being used on T V, but didn’t think I could afford one. When I reviewed the Makita, it sounded too good to be true. The price was very affordable and the quality is excellent. The saw arrived timely and in perfect condition.i would recommend this saw to anyone.

This thing is the best! It cuts sheet goods perfectly! I’ve used it to cut a stud down to length to match the height of the two next to it, patch wood flooring (amazingly) amongst other things. All in all, this is a really nice saw.

I buddy of mine has a Festool like this, but they are really expensive. I love the fact that I can now cut a perfect straight line with this saw, at a price which is reasonable.Very easy to use, highly recommended.John

I own 6 Makita tools and they are all ruggedly built and provide years of trouble-free service. The Makita SP6000 track saw is no different- it is a joy to use. It has plenty of power and makes perfect cuts. I used it with my son-in law to cut cabinet grade birch plywood for kitchen drawers. The scribing feature allows you to skim the surface of sheet goods to avoid chipping. Cuts are accurate and square. (I am still on good terms with my son-in law).

Used with the track guide for making precise straight cuts. The produced cuts are as good as those made on my table saw. The setting for cutting a shallow cut to reduce surface tear out worked well. Once the surface fibers were cut I made a full depth cut. The resulting cut was clean. The material was 1/4″ plywood from Home Depot. At this time I’ve only used the saw a few times.

I have had the pleasure to use both the Makita and Festool tracksaws. And, although the Festool is clearly the best on the market, the Makita is a very close second at about half the cost. I have been really happy overall with the product and would definitely recommend. It requires a little tuning out of the box to run parallel to the track with no slop but didn’t take much to get accurate. Very nice addition to the shop for squarely crosscutting panels and tops that are too wide for the table saw cross-cut sled.

Smooth operation. Been cutting 10′ x 9″ oak planks for flooring. Have to go slow but straight as an arrow.

A little research told me that this saw, while not cheap, had the best balance of quality and price among the track saws on the market. It has not disappointed. I’m using it to cut lots of veneered plywood for furniture projects. The cuts are amazingly straight and clean. I gave only 3 stars on value because these saws are all overpriced for what is essentially a glorified circular saw.Hint: If you’re joining two rails, the Festool connectors cost less and work with Makita’s track. The same holds true for DeWalt’s track clamps.

BEWARE the guide rail that shipped with my saw had 1/2″ of bow from one end to the other. Visible from across the room. Totally unusable. Got a replacement that is straight and now I’m pretty happy with it. The 1/16 cut lock is sticky but otherwise everything works as expected.

Great value, guide rail is perfectly matched. Also ordered Makita’s pr.of clamps to secure the track while cutting. This track saw is easily$400 less than the premium version made by Festool.

I vacillated for weeks on which track saw to purchase. They are all expensive and I wanted to make sure I didnt end up underpowered. I ultimately settled on the corded Makita. I thought it was the best balance. If money were no object o would get the Mafell. Great saw and very accurate.

Pros:After using this saw I can say the cuts are very clean and the saw slides in the rail very easy. The saw dust is minimal if connected to a vacuum and the plunge system is easy to use. The saw’s case is big enough to hold the clamps and the rail connectors.Cons:I asked Home Depot to make sure the saw was packed correctly, I was told it would be, and it was not. The saw is loose in its box to rattle around and it broke the box interior. This is an issue for Home Depot to correct and not Makita. The cord should be 3 feet longer and the two rails do not connect smoothly. The instructions from Makita should be upgraded with a few pictures and larger print.

I’m not a pro but an avid DIY’er. My table saw could not provide the accuracy and it was a hassle trying to rip 8′ sheets of plywood. For two years I used aluminum guide rails with my circular saw to save money but the frustration was too much. I scrapped too many expensive sheets because the saw “moved” laterally. The dust collection port connects perfectly to my Dewalt DWV010 HEPA vacuum which I also bought here at Home Depot. Now I can cut pieces in my basement with sawdust cleanup remaining minimal. Now that I’m used to the vacuum turning on and off with the saw, I can’t go back! I do have one complaint directed at Makita: pack the saw & guide rail better. My saw bounced so much that the plastic tray in the bottom was busted. If you pay $400 plus for tool, is a $1 piece of foam at the top too much to ask for? Show a little respect to your customers please. Also, my guide rail had some cosmetic damage at the corners from poor packaging. Not a show stopper but very disappointing.
