Why I haven’t picked up a track saw earlier is beyond me. People the hype is real. So much easier to cut sheets of plywood. I love it. I have never owned a track saw so I cannot compare to others.I did do a lot of research and I’m glad I went with a Makita and here is why.Didn’t have a riving and I don’t need onePrice was better than some other modelsThe track it comes with is great quality Setting up was easy and controls are smooth What I don’t care for but can live with Cut depth adjustment in metric… what the heck is 10mm?…. that’s a bullet for us. Anyway it’s super easy to adjust using a combination square. Overall completely satisfied with it. I have only used it for one project so there may be updates in the future. I have the corded saw just to be clear.

I purchased this because the way I was breaking down sheet goods was getting woefully inaccurate. The Makita track saw is reasonably priced and accurate. The scribe feature makes sure you don’t get chip out when cutting plywood. The track is straight and true and I will be buying an extension track for it soon. I should have bought one of these sooner.

I have no idea why people are rating a tool on the carrier it comes in? Makita sells these cases separate and they are a great addition for storage. The clips are too hard to open? My 5 year old can open the case without issue and actually who wouldn’t want a case to stay closed? They also latch onto on another and is the reason for 4 clips. You can use one or all four. The case has a plastic base which located the saw and the extra blades. The saw fits perfectly into the case and again am lost with the rattle toy comment as extra room allows you to store the clamps and such. This is a tool not a piece of glass. The saw has to cut straight it is on a rail. Cutting square has nothing to do with the saws ability as the user would have to square their cut what the saw does is cut a straight line. The flex in the tracks exists in all track saws and allows the track to flex to the woods surface. In order for the rail to be bent to effect the cut you would have to have a drop that would bend a piece of aluminum 6″ wide with 3 ridges width wise. Not happening. This saw has a small retractable tab that allows the saw to be locked into the track on bevel cuts which is invaluable to anyone performing these cuts. It has great miter cuts ability with several preset angles and also an over 45 button. The saw is too hard to push down the track???? The saw has both tension and saw to track slop adjustments. Their is no way this saw is too tight if adjusted. It can be adjusted from a dead stop to being too loose it is up to the operator to adjust it.This saw cuts just as good or better then the Festool at 1/2 the price. The TS75 is a lot more money but will cut thicker material. Save the money and buy better blades and accys.A lot of the bad reviews are people who didn’t read an owners manual or do not have any woodworking experience.

Great saw meet all requirements

Works as expected. I did a lot of research on track saws and settled on this one based on its reviews in price. It is plenty strong to cut through any material I’ve tried including 6/4″ thick white oak. It certainly will not replace my tablesaw but is a great option for breaking down sheet goods and larger cross cuts. Happy to have it in my workshop!

Works great just wish it had a little more in accessories department like Festool. The saw itself is great.

Better than Festool. Even for Festool owners! While last time I looked the Festool Guide Rail Connector only employed a single strip with setscrews bearing against the inside of the actual $$$ aluminum Guide Rail track. Points of the the setscrews obviously damaging the backside of the track when tightening too tight, OR allowing the tracks to slip apart if not tight enough.(I understand a Festool claim that they use slot-head screws so that not too much damage can be done to the track). On the other hand, the Makita design employs a two-piece strip connector (see above picture). One strip with headless hex setscrews embedded and the other a matching solid rail connector to back-up and distribute the setscrews clamp load. Providing a mechanical, non-slip guide rail connection.OK, so it is about $4.00 more than the Festool connector (recommendation by both Festool and Makita use 2 connectors per rail). But if you already spent this much on rails you want the best connection, and with less damage. With the ability to tighten the rail clamp sections more securely, and if you only occasionally use/cut with the connected two rails (ie: not transport connected sections, which you should NEVER do no matter who’s product.) You might easily get away with only ONE mechanical connected rail pair (on the underside of the tracks (Festool or Makita) to assure left/right alignment..As with ALL JOINED rail systems. Find some way to back-up the opposing side of the rails with an additional board and clamp to prevent a rail shift cutting into the “good” side of your cut.My recommendation for ANY joined rails “measure twice, clamp three times (start, back-up and end of rail).PS for Festool owners. First replacement of your splinterguard; consider using the Makita black splinterguard it is much stiffer and more effective that the softer “clear” Festool splinterguard. And interchangeable.PPS TO ALL TRACKSAW USERS: Clamping BOTH ends of the track to the material is imperative to any material that you don’t want to waste material on a bad cut. I know Tommy (sorry, I love what you do) occasionally show a tracksaw rail simply laid across a sheet of stock, but that will not stop it from shifting left or right as you hand coaxes it. USE A CLAMP on both ends of the board. {Measure twice clamp three times}ALSO: Check out the Black and Decker Track Clamp (DWS5026) made by Irwin (?) easy to use and has a soft rubber backup pad (no obvious round “ding” in the back of your materiel. Fits all rails.

Makita makes good tools and this saw is no exception. Track saws are great for breaking down sheet OSB/plywood.

Excellent saw with excellent cut quality. The stock blade exceeded expectations. I am very happy with this saw, although the cord could be a little longer, it is just barely enough but certainly usable.
Victoria Hammes (verified owner) –
This saw and guide are simple to use the cuts are very clean. It should come with clamps instead of buying seperatly.
Emerson Metz (verified owner) –
Smooth clean operation with very little dust when connected to a vacuum.

I am using this saw to build kitchen cabinets and have completed two, including cutting through ¾ plywood as well as 1 ½” of plywood stacked with accurate cuts ready to glue. Its a quality product. I like the feature that easily allows a shallow first cut to help with possible tear out. The blade that comes with is good. If you are new to track saws, like I was, read the manual carefully and maybe download other tracksaw manuals since it is sparse (checkout Festool’s). Follow instructions to prevent kickback. A sacrificial table helps with clamping work securely and accuracy, definitely worth a few hours with many examples online. I have used both the Makita and Festool tracks. The Makita track that comes with it is fine but I like the smoothness of the Festool track and their easy to use stop.

Very useful, especially in a smaller shop, very good saw. Do make sure to make a very straight and calculated initial cut, because that determines the cut line going forward.Safe cutting!

Saw operates exactly expected. I am amazed at how well it stays put without clamps. I used it on some very expensive walnut and had complete confidence in its performance. This saw is a must have for any master carpenter. I work on mega yachts and the dust collection is amazing! Allowing me to do cutting right on board these multi million dollar vessels. Very pleased! Dont waste your money on festool!

Best saw ever. So easy and powerful and makes great straight cuts every time when cross ripping a 4×8 sheet of plywood. This tool gives you the utmost confidence that your cut is going to come out perfectly every time

Cuts smoothly and effortlessly. Blade provided was sufficient for smoothly cutting the solid surface countertops I was building.

Saw is working good My point is that when people buying set which is saw and track you should add track cover for protecting track and for easy transportation Now it is extra $70 and this is expensive
