Just what I needed to get into those hard to reach places in order to drill a hole.

As an electrician I bought this to use in extremely tight quarters, that is why I bought the keyed chuck because it is much smaller than the keyless chuck. I wouldn’t use it to drill out an entire house. I use it mostly in old work situations. It works great with a 7/8” paddle bit. I tried it with an 11/2”paddle bit it did make it through but with some difficulty. Definitely recommend the 5 AH battery. It has provisions to add a belt clip although it did not come with one (I wish it did)Overall I am pretty impressed with this tool and think it is pretty reasonably priced I definitely recommend it b

Powerful and compact, this right angle drill makes the job easier. The only down side is the chuck key and the key holder. Sometimes the chuck key will pop out of the holder. The chuck key handle bends with to much tension. The keyless chuck drill would be better.

The drill is perfect for those tight spots, a must have for any tool box.

I bought this drill in order to bore holes in studs to run wires. It did a great job in new construction lumber, but the old construction from the fifties was too much for it. Using an auger bit was obviously very taxing on this drill, so I would recommend it for light to moderate jobs only. It’s a shame since the rest of my LXT stuff has never let me down.I didn’t give it five stars because of a poor user design feature. When you chuck a bit the natural tendency is to hold the drill in the middle of the body. The problem is the large trigger switch is located there and very easily turns on if you don’t lock out the reverse switch. After a couple times I just made sure the reverse switch WAS locked out and everything was fine; a key-less chuck would have been a lot nicer.

i purchased 2 of the right angle drills with the small yet powerful size this drill works very well in confined spaces where size is important and with Makitas great offer of getting a free battery when you purchase 2 tools is great

This is old-school: An indestructible, very powerful, keep-it-simple Makita tool. Better clearance than a Milwaukee corded (the old “Sioux”). Much more powerful than a Bosch 12v. Best right-angle drill for general tight work I’ve ever used.

Tough and perfect for some jobs. No other right angel drills would have done the job I bought it for.

Low on power output. I have a standard Makita 18V and the loss of efficiency in gearhead (to get to 90 degrees) is VERY noticeable. Concerned tool will not meet all my needs.

Bought a Makita 18V Lithium Ion Battery operated combo set from HD. I own a cottage, and a home. ALWAYS needing soomething that’s “at the other place”. Buying that Makita kit solved a lot of that.Very happy with the quality. Have needed an angle drill for years – mostly spot duty use in special situations.Purchased this unit on line from HD. Shipped with no issues, arrived as promised. Had a specific project where I needed to drill some holes in a confined area. Unit worked great.Looking for a reason to buy the Mechanics Impact, and the Circular Saw in the future! Great investment, expectng a lifetime of good service from it all.

A bit underpowered. Not brushless. All other is good.
