Makita, a pioneer in brushless motor technology and battery innovation, combines both in the 18V X2 LXT (36V) Lithium-Ion Brushless 9 in. Paddle Switch Cut-Off/Angle Grinder with Electric Brake. It’s powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries for 36V power and performance, and has an electronically-controlled BL Brushless motor that matches torque and RPM to the application. Makita 18V X2 means freedom from the cord, even for demanding applications like grinding and cut-off applications that often call for a corded grinder. Best of all, users can remain in one battery platform, using the same fast-charging 18V batteries on the XAG13 as they use across the Makita 18V LXT cordless tool system. The XAG13 is equipped with efficiency features for maximum performance. The electric brake stops the grinding or cut-off wheel in 4.5 seconds or less for maximum productivity, and the Electronic Torque Control turns the motor off if rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop. For consistent performance, Automatic Speed Change technology adjust speed and torque during operation. For added comfort, the vibration absorbing back handle is isolated from the motor housing for reduced vibration, and the soft start feature suppresses start-up reaction for smoother start-ups and longer gear life. It has a no lock-on rear paddle trigger switch, and the anti-restart protection is engineered to prevent motor start-up when the battery is inserted with the switch locked on.
- Bl brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the bl motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life; delivers 6,000 rpm
- (2) 18-Vol lxt lithium-ion batteries deliver corded power without leaving the 18-Volt lxt battery platform
- Electric brake stops the grinding or cut-off wheel in 4.5 seconds or less for maximum productivity
- Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) turns the motor off if rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop
- Automatic speed change technology adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimum performance
- Vibration absorbing back handle is isolated from the motor housing effectively reducing vibration to the operator’s hands
- Rear handle paddle switch with no lock-on feature
- Efficient bl brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge
- Electronically-controlled bl brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demands of the application
- Anti-restart protection engineered to prevent motor start up when battery is inserted with switch locked on
- Weighs only 13.01 lbs. with battery for reduced operator fatigue
- LED battery charge indicator alerts user of drained power for each of the 2-batteries
- Large spindle lock button for easier wheel changes while wearing gloves
- Protective roll cage helps protect batteries from damage due to common everyday handling
- Wire mesh intake covers are engineered to prevent debris from entering motor
- Tool-less wheel guard for quick and easy adjustments

Love this little but powerful Makita impact driver. Been using it every day on the job for the past month. Drives in anything I ask it to with ease…ten inch lag bolts into pressure treated wood, no problem, and it could break loose stubborn nuts & bolts too. Fits into areas my other impact driver couldn’t. The 3 speed settings are great but to be honest I rarely use them because the variable speed trigger is so smooth. Battery life it great. I never had to swap out batteries on a 4AH, and I use this tool a lot… all day. It’s usually 2 or 3 days before the battery need to be recharged. Yesterday I accidentally dropped it onto some scaffolding about 12 feet down. No issues at all after the fall. Before I invested in the Makita platform I was debating between them and Milwaukee. Milwaukee makes some great tools but Makita is just as good, if not better in same cases. You won’t regret this purchase. All Makita cordless tools are super smooth and perform flawlessly.

I like the lite wt and the 3 speed that lets me put electrical covers on with less chance of breaking. And they went back to the light they use to have that stays on a while without keeping trigger pulled.

Very happy with the performance of this impact driver. I would recommend it to anyone. Much better than the basic impact driver.

I originally was going to get the 99$ makita impact driver with battery and charger but I’m glad I bought this 1 instead. I love the different speeds for different applications. Works great

I have only used this several times but it works as expected and very happy with the tool

This product has exceeded my expectations. Right now I believe, you can get the impact driver with battery for 100$. I chose to buy this one instead because of the 3 settings that help out a lot.

I have had mine for some time when my 12v stop on me and I recommend the tool to any one who work every day driving screws or bolts
