The Makita 18-Volt LXT Cordless Portable Band Saw (XBP03T) delivers cordless metal cutting power to the jobsite. The XBP03T has a Makita-built high torque motor and a compact design with less weight for a range of cutting applications in a variety of metal materials. The XBP03T is engineered for a range of metal-cutting tasks, ideal for any electrical, HVAC, installation, metal building, metal fabrication, plumbing and any pro contractor who requires a best-in-class engineered cordless portable band saw. The XBP03T features a Makita-built high torque motor 630 ft./mininum blade speed for faster cutting and a 2-1/2 in. cutting capacity is ideal for cutting conduit, Unistrut, all thread, channel, corrugated, pipe, sheet metal, square tubing and more. The adjustable foot protects material and provides positive support for more accurate cuts. The XBP03T weighs just 9 lbs. with battery and features a more compact design at 18-3/4 in. L and an ergonomic shape that fits like a glove for reduced operator fatigue. The XBP03T is also equipped with a built-in LED light that illuminates the work area for more efficient work, as well as rubber bumpers and a removable hook.

The charger works fine, but it does NOT charge up a 6Ah battery, as I had hoped (& as was listed on the packaging & elsewhere). I will be returning this charger & starting all over to research just what kind of charger I need for 6Amphour batteries for my Makita cordless hedge trimmer. Meanwhile, I’m stuck with my old plug-in trimmer (limited distance from house) or the machete & loppers!

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.

work excellently for uni strut , pipe. conduit,. tubing etc. without the reciprocating saw jumping you get when using with one hand and straighter cuts too, did consider the Milwaukee but the size limitations for uni strut is too small
