The 18-Volt X2 LXT Lithium-Ion (36-Volt) Cordless Blower (XBU01PT) is powered by two 18-Volt LXT batteries, so users get 36-Volt power and run time for corded and gas-powered demands, without leaving the 18-Volt LXT platform. Model XBU01PT is a kit and includes two fast-charging 18-Volt LXT 5.0Ah batteries and an 18-Volt Dual Port Charger that will charge two batteries simultaneously for increased productivity and less downtime. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The XBU01PT has a variable 2-speed motor (0-10,000, 0-17,000 RPM) for optimum speed control and a maximum air velocity of 208 MPH with up to 30 minutes of continuous run time on a single charge. Added benefits include lower noise at only 86 dB(A) and zero emissions, making it ideal for applications in residential areas. The XBU01PT requires none of the maintenance associated with comparable gas-powered blowers: simply insert two charged 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion batteries and the tool is ready for work.

This is a light weight blower with strong power velocity. Know that when purchased without the batteries or charger there will be an additional cost of approximately $250.00 to activate and keep the blower charged and working. This additional expense is associated for two batteries and a charging unit.The blower works as described and is easy to use.

This leaf blower works as advertised, but I don’t think that it is more powerful than my corded blower. Also, having to use 2 batteries makes it much heavier. Glad that it comes with a shoulder strap; this helps to alleviate the weight.

I have several 18 volt Makita tools and had much higher expectations for this blower, unfortunately I’m not at all satisfied with run time or power output so I will just use it on light jobs. I had to get a jet corded blower for the serious stuff in the yard and go back to dragging a cord around.

I’ve tried a couple of different battery-powered blowers, but this one takes the cake. It has a good combination of air speed and volume. The only battery-powered blower I’ve tried that can actually move wet leaves. It’s a bit pricey, but totally worth it, you get what you pay for here.

The blower is light easy to use, the only thing it is designed for certain applications. You have smooth surfaces and not too big area lightweight contaminants it will do perfect job. I’m using it to swipe my 53′ dry van box and it works great, I’m not sure if it will do a back yard though. Good rig for proper application.
