Landscapers and contractors are demanding more cordless alternatives to gas-powered outdoor power equipment. Makita is meeting demand with an expanding line of cordless OPE that includes the 18-Volt X2 LXT Lithium-Ion (36-Volt) Brushless Blower. With zero emissions and lower noise, the 18-Volt X2 (36-Volt) Cordless Blower is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. Its powered by two 18-Volt LXT batteries for maximum power and run time, but without leaving the 18-Volt battery platform. With the efficient Makita BL brushless motor, the blower delivers longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. Model XBU02PT is a kit and includes the Blower, 2 fast-charging 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah batteries and an efficient 18-Volt Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger. With no carbon brushes, the Makita BL Brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life. When powered by two 18-Volt 5.0Ah batteries, the efficient brushless motor delivers up to 28 minutes of run-time on dial setting #3 on a single charge.

I used the blower to prepare a roof for coating. It worked great! No more wires dragging through wet roof coating!

This cordless blower is easy to handle and puts out a very good volume of air! I found the controls very easy to use. There is a blower speed adjustment wheel (numbers 1-6) right within reach of your thumb (see picture). The trigger and locking mechanism (see picture) are also easy to reach and use. The overall length of the blower is about 3 feet at it longest nozzle adjustment. The nozzle sections are adjustable by several inches, and can firmly lock into place (see the pictures). Despite having two batteries, I found the weight and balance of the blower was very good. One of the best features about this blower is the fact that it comes with (and runs on) two Makita batteries and a two-battery charger. Big plus – the batteries are interchangeable with other Makita battery-powered tools! With the increase in battery-powered tools for most every job, having one type of battery and one type of charger for multiple tools is really something that is a real long-term benefit. With limited space on the workbench, I didn’t need multiple chargers taking up space or filling up all the electrical outlets. Speaking of the charger, this unit has an internal fan for cooling and a selectable tone for the completion of the charging cycle. This is a good feature – you will get an audible reminder to unplug the batteries while you are working on other things in your workshop. This blower and charger are very well-designed for long-term use, and I highly recommend them!

Only downside is that is heavy and after using it for a few minutes you feel it in your arms. Otherwise it is incredible. Highly recommend!

Shipped quick from Homedepot to my house. I already have several Makita 18v power tools so to get the dual charger & 2 batteries was almost worth the price I paid for the complete kit. The blower is very powerful, I haven’t used the trimmer yet but knowing Makita quality expect it to perform well.

This Makita 18-volt LXT system and blower have exceeded all my expectations. I was so impressed by the quality and performance of everything that I have started purchasing additional Makita 18v LXT tools to replace (very) old plug in items. I’m also glad Home Depot sells this line. Now if my spouse doesn’t read this review I’ll be in good shape to replace everything by next summer. JPS, Lincoln, CA.

I thought the offer came with 2 spare or extra batteries. This is what I understood on the t.v.advertisement. I only received the two batteries.

Lightweight, easy to use and more power than expected. Recommend buying extra battery packs for jobs taking longer than 45 – 60 minutes.

Tried giving a more in depth review, but wouldn’t accept it and I was getting bored at trying to make it work. Anyway this beat out one red and one yellow cordless blower and by a long shot. Run time will hopefully be improved when or if Makita comes out with a 9 or 10 amp hour battery.
