This product is easier to start, lighter and has less vibration than a similar gas powered chainsaw. I use a chainsaw frequently on my property. I will use a gas powered saw when cutting up larger logs but use the Makita for everything else. I will use the Makita for larger logs if I need to carry a saw for some distance. The batteries last for the several hours I typically use a chainsaw. There is a autopower off with a short lag time that takes a little getting used to but with a little learning time, you learn to work with it. The autopower off is an important safety feature that I have come to appreciate. I have several other Makita power tools using the same battery. It’s to use the same battery in multiple tools.

Awesome! A couple of tiny items to be aware of. The amount of torque this saw generates far exceeds a gas saw and that makes this saw exceptionally dangerous to use. This saw will saw much faster compared to a 56cc stihl saw. The anti-kickback feature does work on the saw. When I tested this saw to purposely kick the bar back the handle/counterweight engaged to stop the chain. The recharge time of 40 minutes is equal to how long you can use this saw before the batteries require recharge or changed out for charged batteries. This saw comes with the narrow kerf chain. You’ll need to small file to resharpen. You’ll need to check the chain tension every 15 minutes. The tension adjustment backs off about a 1/3 of a turn during use due to vibration. Add a few drops of red threadlocker to the adjustment prior to the first use (no bar oil on the screw) which helps the adjustment stay in place. This saw far exceeds my expectations and works much better compared to the new stihl battery powered saws.

Really easy to assemble. You will want bigger batteries esp if using the high setting.

The batteries are great and last much longer. Although it is supposed to be compatible with all “Star” Makita tools, the batteries do not easily slide into the reciprocating saw base. They fit easily on my drill and impact gun. Just wish they would slide into reciprocating saw just as easily.

Unless you’re a professional logger and going to use this daily, buy this or the 16 inch Makita chainsaw without hesitation. It just works! I just cleared a half acre worth of trees in two days, rotating 4 batteries and had no down time. Took down everything like a champ except for a super thick tree (4ft wide trunk) it got it down but it took quite a wile. If your a regular person, this is the chainsaw for you. I had a nice gas one but the mixing of gas, trying to start it etc too much hastle, this unit, just make sure you have oil and your ready to rock. It has pleanty of power to get the job done, most trees i took down were oak and cherry which are harder woods and a typial trunk was around a foot to 1.5 ft. My cuts prob took 20-30 sec before putting in wedges to ensure the right fall.

Nice blower. The air intake can get blocked by user. It can be awkward to maintain holding it out and away from your body for long periods of time.

This blower is perfect for my 1/2 acre lot. My blower will last about 20 minutes using 2 5.0Ah batteries on setting 3. I have another set of 4.0Ah batteries and between the two sets, I can easily blow my front yard. The blower has a good adjustment dial. It has a high volume output that can really move leaves. It is far better than an older corded one I have that has high velocity but lower volume air movement. I am pleased with this tool. I have several Makita tools on the 18v platform and really find them to be well-built, reliable, lightweight, and powerful.

Works great like all Makita tools. Lasts about 35 minutes on high and much longer at lower speeds. I have oak trees and a pool and threw my rake away. Makita rocks!!
