Makita has delivered a cordless cutting solution for rebar and steel rod with the 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Steel Rod Flush Cutter Kit (XCS06T1). It will cut up to #8 Rebar or 1 threaded rod up to 1/8 flush to the surface. It’s powered by a Makita brushless motor with 2,200 RPM for faster cutting and the carbide-tipped blade delivers burr-free cutting with minimal spark emission. The kit also includes a chip collector for capturing metal cut-offs and a side handle that adjusts to 3 positions for operator comfort and convenience. It is an ideal solution for work away from a power source or in remote locations. For increased durability, the XCS06ZK is equipped with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions. Its part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

Ok so I bought this because I needed a charger that would charge my 5 makita batteries that I have and so far it does like it is supposed to. I have had zero issues and it definitely is an upgrade to the makita dc18sd that came with my impact driver.

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.

This batter was bought to replace the original battery that quit after two charge phase. So far this one has taken one charge and is working OK. But the original battery went to Makita for replacement and I haven’t received the replacement yet. I would rate higher but so far I am seeing a 25% failure and that is not accecptable.

Great charger. Charge time listed by Makita was pretty accurate. Easy to attach/remove the batteries. Lights were clear on the status of the charge. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the amount of plastic that this product was made of, but I don’t see any durability issues with that. Same as other brands for their charging stations as well so I guess that’s the industry standard.
