The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver (model XDT11R) delivers power and speed in a compact size for a full range of driving and fastening tasks, with a fast-charging 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion battery for less downtime. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created star protection computer controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The XDT11R features a Makita built 4-pole motor with variable speed (0-2,900 RPM and 0-3,500 IPM) that delivers 1,460 in./lbs. of maximum torque. At only 5-3/8 in. long and 2.8 lbs. I am an experienced professional carpenter and construction manager with my own business. Several years ago, I bought this driver as part of a drill/driver combo, so when I found this older model again, I couldn’t pass it up. Of course it performs equally as well as my first one.

Makita brand can’t be beat on their tools. Lasts a long time, runs like a champ and the batteries hold up really well. Tool isn’t to heavy and is certainly compact but powerful. I’ve been using these tools professionally for nearly ten years and my stuff always out performs the competition.

Great tool for the price. Battery life is good. Charger is really fast. No adjustment for torque, but not really a big deal. Nice Makita hard case.

Love this Drill, I use this for all sorts of projects. Putting down concrete board for ceramic tile, driving 3” long screws into wooden structures. Trust me this thing will not let you down, more than likely the battery will ….. HaHa! That would be my only suggestion, but a spare battery.

I work in HVAC construction which is fairly screw intensive. Plenty of power with an impact and the 2.0 pack lasts all day for most work and feels much lighter on my belt.

It is compatible with our existing system

Used it this weekend to build a large work bench. After driving 100+ 3” deck screws, it still had plenty of power left over. I previously used a makita drill/driver for this and it would have used up its larger battery entirely. This is much more suited to my application and works fantastically
