Do more with less. The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Impact Driver (model XDT15ZB, tool only, battery sold separately) is an ultra-compact fastening solution with significantly less weight. The 18-Volt Sub-Compact Impact Driver is part of a new class of compact, with the size and weight of lower voltage tools but with the performance, power and compatibility of 18-Volt. The expansive breadth-of-line of the Makita 18-Volt LXT Series means an 18-Volt battery from any LXT tool will power the 18-Volt Sub-Compact Impact Driver. The XDT15ZB has an efficient brushless motor with 2-speed settings and dual LED lights illuminate the work area. The innovative Assist Mode (A-mode) helps eliminate screw cam-out and cross threading by driving at low speed until tightening begins and is ideal for driving longer fasteners. At only 5-5/16 in. and 2.6 lbs. (with battery, sold separately) it is an ultra-compact fastening solution with superior comfort and handling. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. This was an anniversary gift from my husband (talk amongst yourselves …). I was actually thrilled to receive it as I have a lot of clearing to do on our 10 acres but am nervous about using a chainsaw. I love that it is rechargeable & light enough for me to use for several hours at a time. I can even use it one handed.

This worked great cutting angle iron for my project. Very happy with this compact saw. It is slower cutting power than a larger saw

The brushless models of Makita 18V tools are a big step forward. They are lighter, more powerful, and seem to run longer. I use mine for everything from woodwork to dirt bikes. I can’t live without mine.

I was in the store looking for a tool to trim up thorny rose bushes and a lot of other overgrown shrubs, bamboo This tool was labeled 2018 HD innovative tool of the year but is about $30 more than older model Makita sawzall. I decided to give it a try with my 3 amp-hour battery. I’ve also purchased a Diablo 12” pruning blade as this tool comes with no blades. The sawzall employs a no-tool method to attach the blade. It seemed at first the blade was a bit wobbly. I couldn’t find anything in the instructions regarding this. After a few more tries this was the best I could do. So away I went and the sawzall did a fine job. But I did notice this sawzall is not a light weight tool. Women will definitely need both hands to control this tool. It does have the feel of a well built tool. Makita has their own factories but no doubt this was made in China.
