Good all around tool. Long lasting batteries.

Saw performed as expected. Battery life seems a little low. 61/2 saw blades are difficult to find.

I was a little surprised with the two amp hour battery Your advertisement online showed all the devices using the 4.0 amp hour battery and I was assuming I was getting to 4.0 and power batteries And the description did not specifically say what amp hour batteries were included so I went by the picturesMy fault need to read Small print

I was in the store looking for a tool to trim up thorny rose bushes and a lot of other overgrown shrubs, bamboo This tool was labeled 2018 HD innovative tool of the year but is about $30 more than older model Makita sawzall. I decided to give it a try with my 3 amp-hour battery. I’ve also purchased a Diablo 12” pruning blade as this tool comes with no blades. The sawzall employs a no-tool method to attach the blade. It seemed at first the blade was a bit wobbly. I couldn’t find anything in the instructions regarding this. After a few more tries this was the best I could do. So away I went and the sawzall did a fine job. But I did notice this sawzall is not a light weight tool. Women will definitely need both hands to control this tool. It does have the feel of a well built tool. Makita has their own factories but no doubt this was made in China.

Just like that old energizer battery commercial, this will last FOREVER. Even with the 2Ah battery. Seriously. It’s not the most powerful. Not even close, but thats not why you purchase a subcompact impact. You purchase it because it’s light, and versatile. I am however, incredibly amazed at how long the battery runs on this thing. I dare you to find a job where the 2Ah battery dies on you. Seriously. I double dog dare you. This is, by far, my favorite tool. Thank you Makita. (On a side note, i purchased an 18-V Ridgid brushless impact for my heavy duty jobs and it’s so amazing. It, with a battery, was cheaper and more powerful than any makita i could find so i went with it. Great duo). This makita however gets used so much more so it’s fantastic. I wish it had 3 lights and a quicker way of adding a bit but i guess you sacrifice extra features when you go for something subcompact. I’m ok with that. It does however have this amazing Auto feature for speed. Rather than 2-speed or 3 speed like my Ridgid, i prefer this auto feature. It speeds up as i need it. Very intuitive and i love it

The tool works fine but the safety switch is not designed with left handed people in mind. I had some difficulty when making certain cuts and at odd angles being able to press the safety and pull the trigger. I am sure if it was a tool I used daily I could work it out but it seemed awkward so far.
