The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Driver-Drill Kit (XFD131) is an ideal drilling and driving solution for the user who wants a drill with superior power-to-weight ratio. The XFD131 combines 440 in.lbs. of Max Torque with an efficient brushless motor that delivers up 50% more work per charge, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. For the pro user, this means more drilling and driving power, greater productivity, and fewer trips up and down the scaffolding or ladder to get to the battery charger. In driver mode, the adjustable torque settings provide more control for a full range of applications, from large fasteners to smaller, delicate screws. It weighs only 3.8 lbs. (with 3.0Ah battery) for increased comfort and superior power-to-weight ratio. The XFD131 is compatible with Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion batteries, from the fast-charging 18-Volt LXT Compact 2.0Ah battery to full-size 18-Volt LXT batteries for longer run time. The kit includes an efficient 18-Volt LXT 3.0Ah battery that reaches a full charge in only 30 minutes for less downtime and increased productivity. It is part of Makita expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

replacement for 5 yr old Makita drill…everything as expected

I have not used it much yet but it seems to work great. I like that it is an 18 volt battery.

Works great for my application as a low voltage tech. Personally I mainly use the 12 volt makita tools. But I got this just because I occasionally gotta use larger hole saw bits or I need to run some larger fasteners. I probably use the drill two to three times a week so again for my applications it works great.

It’s a great drill and I’m very glad I purchased it.

Best drill for the money. One large battery instead of 2 small is a plus for me

I actually own two of these I love them so much. One at home and one at the office. Very reliable and battery lasts for years. Also, battery fully charges very fast. I don’t even own extra batteries, it charges so fast.

Might be entry level, but this is a really good tool. Solid build quality like all Makita. (I own their 71/2 circular saw, 10″ miter saw and reciprocating saw)Compact, fairly lightweight even with a 3ah battery……which I like as charge last a long time and the locking chuck makes changing bits really easy. Tons of torque. Replaces an old Ni-Cad Dewalt, which was totally solid, but the batteries would no longer hold charge. It was a great drill I think I had for 15 years?? But the Makita is a big step up due to improving tech like Li battery, LED light, brushless motor and locking chuck. (non of which is of course unique to Makita)Are there better drills? Sure. But for light to moderate use…this thing is hard to beat. Don’t think even a pro would think it junk I would fall into the moderate use category with having 2 building to maintain. Do I care it doesn’t come w/ a hard shell case? No. All the tools end up ‘naked’ in a tool chest. I can use the bag for going to the grocery. 🙂 Charger considered slow by being 1/2hr from zero……no big deal to me because of the battery life. Are they playing a marketing game by having perpetually ‘on sale’? (‘was $150) I dunno…..don’t care. For $99 it’s a steal.

My expectations were realized upon open the package! Not only was the brushless drill as pretty as I expected but the feeling in my hands was also satisfying. The drill was much quieter than my original drill and driver and there was less heat coming from it. Excellent tool!

Great drill better than any Dewalt I’ve ever had. Get it !

I purchased the drill and drill driver set. Although I haven’t put it to a full test as of yet, I love what I’ve see so far. I did try the driver on my suv’s lugnuts and it did whip them off and on without any problems. Its a powerful little beast. The one negative is that the chargers that came with the set were not the fast charger so it takes about 50-60 minutes to full charge a dead batter. I’ll update this review once I’ve had the set for awhile to see how it holds up

Great product for a good price. It was delivered to store on time. I’ve never regretted purchasing Makita tools.

Good torque and range of bit sizes. Big plus: I have several 4 to 6 amp batteries that fit in addition to a couple 2 amps so I am not likely to be short of power!

If you are looking for a tough drill do not look any further. This drill has power and durability to do many jobs. I used it to build my deck, used it for driving cement screws. I used it with a garden drill bit to dig holes no problem. Great Price Great Drill
