The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Plate Joiner (model XJP03Z, tool only) provides portability and performance in the field or in the shop, without the cord. The XJP03Z combines power and precision with ease-of-use features for strong and accurate biscuit joints for furniture making, cabinet construction and fine woodworking applications. (note: battery and charger sold separately) It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the Star Symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The XJP03Z provides up to 320 cuts or 160 joints on a single charge (18-Volt LXT 3.0Ah battery, sold separately). This promotion also includes a bonus BL1850B 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery.

Excellent power tool to cut out # 20 biscuit on miter joints to each joint of a gate square, plus the diagonal brace, using the lightest battery Makita makes is an additional plus- to manipulate assured straight horizontal cut, so the biscuit isn’t tweaked and both pieces are perfectly flat without having to power plane an elevation differential
