Makita 18V LXT Brushless Cordless 9 in. Drywall Sander (XLS01Z, tool only) delivers increased efficiency and mobility for drywall finishers. The compact and lightweight design make the XLS01 easier to use for extended periods of time. The XLS01Z delivers up to 35-minutes of run time on a single charge of an 18V 5.0 Ah battery (battery sold separately). Users can match the speed to the application with a variable speed control dial (1,000 RPM to 1,800 RPM) and Constant Speed Control automatically provides additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load for consistent performance. The large highly flexible head is engineered for efficient for increased maneuverability across various wall orientations. The direct-drive BL Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. The adjustable extension pipe collapses for sanding in confined spaces, such as closets and extends up to 16 in. to 1/2 in. for reaching high walls and ceilings. The dust brush is removable for seamless flush-to-corner edge sanding. This promotion also includes a bonus BL1850B 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery.

They seem to be lasting longer then the 3.0 I have. Not happy with the charging time, it states it’s a quick charger, but takes an hour to recharge the batteries.

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.

I have used all kinds of batteries for multiple brands and systems but none of them compare to the 5a. The star protection keeps you going through the whole job. One 5a battery all day or multiple 3a batteries throughout your day? You decide but I’ll take only one battery for the job any day.

Home Depot needs to carry the 5A Battery in their stores and not have to order off their website. This battery is so much better than the 3A Batteries they carry in their stores. The physical size of the 3A, 4A & 5A are all the same. Given that fact, why not get the Battery that will last the longest.
