Makita is expanding the line of cordless outdoor power equipment to include the 18-Volt X2 (36-Volt) LXT Brushless Cordless 21 in. Lawn Mower (XML07Z). With zero emissions, lower noise and reduced maintenance, the 18-Volt X2 (36-Volt) LXT Cordless Lawn Mower is a welcome solution for efficient grass cutting. It’s powered by two 18-Volt LXT batteries. The 4-bay battery system holds 4 batteries for twice the run time, but without leaving the 18-Volt battery platform. The Makita-built motor delivers up to 2,800 RPM. The Quiet Mode setting reduces noise by providing constant speed control at 2,300 RPM. It mows up to ½ an acre using 4 5.0 Ah 18-Volt LXT Batteries (sold separately). The mower offers ease-of-use features including quick height adjustments, mulching capability, and a commercial-grade steel deck. It features a 3-in-1 design for mulching, bagging, or side discharge. The lawn mower features Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT). XPT is a protective seal inside the tool and is engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt LXT System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

Excellent smart mower, increases blade RPM as the grass depth increases or decreases as needed. Mower easily mows my city sized lot. This is another well built Makita product

Works great. Mulches great, bags great. Nice and light, rock-solid construction. Good battery life, with 5 ah batteries. I recommend bagging thick grass to save battery life, but this sucker will power through anything, even mulching, so long as you have batteries on standby! Good, steel construction, thank God! Great wheels, too.

Excellent function and build quality; very simple to operate and amazing experience with my first “smart” mower. Turn quality could be improved (shorter front ‘nose’) but the long wheel base means for straighter lines. If using on hills or very large lawns, I would recommend going with the self-propelled model, but until is still lighter than a gas mower.

This is the best mower I’ve ever owned. It’s quite, light, and efficient. My 6.0Ah batteries cover the entire yard, front and back. I also qualified for a $250.00 rebate from the Air Quality Management District for upgrading my old gas mower to electric.

I love it, very powerful no noise,no more gas,no emissions at all and the best thing it came with 4 batteries for a longer run, very good product.

Very easy to get started upon delivery. Batteries recharge quickly and the double bank cuts my 5k sq. yard with charge to spare. Only shortcoming is how heavy it is, but it rolls and turns easily. Also a bit pricey compared to competition.

All is fine with the Makita 21 inch mower expect for the side discharge chute. The chute frequently falls off requiring that you stop to reattach it. Just a slight bump into something and off it comes. The attachment method for the chute was obviously an afterthought for Makita. At any rate, the batteries charge in short order and last a decent amount of time. No complaints there whatsoever. Also, the mower is powerful, but a bit on the heavy side. At times, its weight makes it as difficult to push as some heavy, gas engine mowers I’ve used. All in all, however, I am pleased with the Makita. You can find comparable battery powered mowers for less, and this makes it difficult to recommend the Makita though. The Makita 21 inch is a good mower, but I do not know that I would buy it again were the opportunity to present itself.

Bought this to replace my current cordless mower. Used it for the 1st time today, was able to cut my entire front and back yard. I removed the batteries and put them in my string trimmer and weed eated my backyard with the same 2 batteries. So just cutting my yard I’ll never have to use the 2nd set of batteries. The 21in blade was way better than my previous 19in mower. Never had any issue of slowing down, didnt lack power. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to go cordless and getting the 2 free extra batteries definitely sweetened the deal. If you’re already a Makita tool owner than adding this to your tools if a no brainers. This was my first Makita purchase and now I’m converting to Makita now.

I was hoping battery charge would last longer but also the bagging took away from battery time!
