The 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shear (model XMU04Z, tool only, batteries and charger sold separately) is a compact and cordless solution for grass trimming and cutting. The XMU04Z has dual blade action and a wide 6-5/16 in. cutting width and delivers faster blade speed (2,500 strokes per minute/SPM) than the previous model. When using a fast-charging 18-Volt LXT 5.0 Ah battery (sold separately), users will get up to 200-minutes of run time on a single charge. It has 3-stage adjustment so the cutting height can be matched to the application. Additional features include a rubberized soft grip handle, tool-less blade changing, non-electrolyzed nickel plated blades to resist staining and rusting and a compact size at only 4.1 lbs. (with battery, sold separately). This Promotion also comes with a bonus BL1840BDC1 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger Starter Pack (4.0Ah).

This is an expensive product. Originally, I opted for the cheaper Black and Decker product but it was not much more than a toy. This is a solid, heavy duty product. A little on the heavy side because I got the largest battery to go with it, but I am very pleased with the quality. I don’t actually use it to trim grass. I use it to dead head plants in my garden. I can trim a 2 gallon potted mum with spent blossoms in under a minute.I wondered if I would regret paying this much for this type of tool, but once I used it I knew this purchase was a good investment.

This product is superior to it’s Sthil counterpart, primarily because it has a 5.0ah replaceable battery with 120 minutes of operating time. It provides good, clean close-up grass trimming around objects.

GOOD UNITI have always had good fortune with Makita Lithium tools and batteries. This grass clipper follows in that tradition. I have half an acre to trim and I don’t like string trimmers for regular “clipping” (often too rough) Clean cuts and easy on batteries.

This lawn shear is such a high quality, powerful device. Even though the price tag is a bit higher than others, Makita never dissappoints eith their craftsmanship and buikd quality. This is a fantastic lawn shear and doesnt make a mess. I highly reccomend it. It is great for maintaining the little grass in our Japanese garden without getting the grass into the stones.
