This is one of those tools that begs the question ‘is it the right tool for the job’Yes! if the job is quality finish work and you can get senco nails. It will have trouble using some brands of nails that have a coating, however senco runs fine.Build quality is superb (mine is made in Japan) and operation, in my view is where the tool shines. When you are holding the workpiece and fire a nail into it, it doesn’t transfer the shock to it causing it to move. Others I have tried might have more power but they tend to nudge the workpiece slightly causing unsatisfactory results. I also have the ryobi 15 gauge and it’s a brute but for quality detail work I turn to the makita.

I regret I didn’t buy this Makitia battery the first time around, instead I wasted my money on a poor performing no-name brand (stopped charging altogther!) online..

Great name brand drill to have. I replaced the Makita I had for more than a decade just because the battery was outdated.

So far so good it’s saving my back from being carrying my air compressor every where I go when I do a small job I’m loving it!!

So far so good after a month of use. I see reviews here complaining about nails being not completely set below flush. In my experience, all battery powered nail guns are more fussy when it comes to this (compared to air-powered). You can’t limp-wrist these guns. Steady pressure with solid contact to the work pice and a straight locked wrist is key. Nailing into hardwood makes this even more critical. Unlike air-nailers, you will get some nails left proud of flush when working overhead and/or holding the gun at odd angles with no force to counter the recoil. Its the price you pay for portable convenience. This Makita does better than most in that regard. When you read/watch reviews on the Dewalts and Milwaukees they suffer similar criticisms. I went with Makita’s proven track record of reliability and solid engineering (As a added benefit, this gun is made in Japan)

Makita all the way! Works well right out of the box.

Nailer would jam with 16-Gauge nails and it would take several attempts after clearing the jammed nails before operating properly. When the nailer worked properly it was great. I used it to install Shiplap from Lowe’s.

I bought Makita because all my other tools are. It’s well made, but heavy. Because of that, I bought the lower Wh battery so as to keep the added weigt to a minimum. So the nails started not setting bellow surface fairly soon. Recommend buying the larger Wh batteries.

This tool worked amazing. Shot over 2500 nails with only 1 misfire and It was due to shooting into a knot in a hard maple board. Totally operator fault. So much nicer than hearing the air compressor. 100% recommend and homedepot did great on shipping.

Knew what it was when I bought it to replace another.

Super easy to use but a bit heavy as made mention by a few purchasers. Worked like a charm for the projects I’ve been wanting to do though.

I am amazed at two things with this battery. First is how quickly it recharges, and second. I get a ton of use out of it.
