The 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2 in. Hammer Driver-Drill (model XPH07M) breaks new ground with full 1,090 in. lbs. of torque for the most demanding drilling and driving applications in wood, masonry and metal. It is powered by a Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The XPH07Z is positioned at the top of Makita’s deep line-up of driver-drills and is a workhorse tool engineered with durability features for operation in harsh job site conditions. It is part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

I needed to drill 3/8” holes through steel, this more than handled the task. And the battery lost one bar!!!!

Amazing torque. Some might be disappointed in the blade speed on high as it’s not as fast as other Makita drills in the fast position.

I used the drill 2 times each time continuously for 1 hour to drill holes into clay and ceramic pots, this drill worked fine without any problem. Also, I have been using the drill to sand and clean PVC and metal pipes, this drill was doing its job very good.

Returned it though. The batteries were not compatible with most of the makita tools I already had

I wanted top of the line and found it with the XPH07 Hammer Drill Driver. It meets all of it’s impressive specs for power and drilling capacities with ease. It does everything I need it to do for my electrical contracting work. I have the older version but only the batteries have changed. It is the same great drill. It is the suffix of the model number that indicates the battery used. I have the XPH07M which is this drill with the 4 AH battery with no charge level indicator on the battery. This new XPH07MB is 4AH battery with the indicator. “Z” is the bare tool. There is a place in this case for an impact driver. Top of the line for that was the XDT12, so I got the XDT12Z bare tool to fill that space. A combo kit is not offered in that configuration. NOW I have top of the line! Both tools have charge level indicators on their handles too. Be sure to use the handle when using low gear to hold on to this beast! It runs 1 1/4” auger and 4” hole saws easily. It drills up to 5/8” holes in concrete cinder block and brick like it was soft wood. 85% of my concrete drilling is for for 1/4” and 3/8” anchors and it drills them fast. One cool feature on the charger is that you can change the “ready” musical alerts to tell who’s charger is done on the job site without looking. Check it out!

Drill is excellent. My only complaint is that it came it the products packaging, if left at the door it was just asking to be stolen. Also the box was slightly damaged.

Good strong cordless drill, the low speed is a little slow & high too fast for my application. But I can feather down the speed with the trigger. Overall still the best drill available for what I needed.

Ordered from the HD online, drove to my nearest store and picked it up. This drill is a man drill with beastly power. If your a weaklin do not buy this drill it will hurt you. Satisfied with HD service and Makita makes one heck of a product. Get you sum

Lots of power and decent battery life. Debated on getting this or a corded still for the same price. Went with this and I’m glad it did.

So far so good the other Makita drills I bought I`ve been very disappointed with the double battery sawz all is one of the best things I have bought the impacts are holding up good, the drills just don`t have it together this one I just bought was the most expensive one I`m hoping it will be better.
