The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2 in. Hammer Driver-Drill (tool-only) combine’s speed and torque in a compact size. For increased versatility, it can be run as a driver-drill or a hammer driver-drill and is engineered for applications in wood, metal, masonry and concrete. The Makita-built 4-pole motor that delivers 480 in. lbs. of MAX Torque and up to 1,900 RPM and 28,500 BPM in the high-speed setting. With Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), the drill is engineered for increased dust and water resistance and is ideal for use in harsh jobsite conditions. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. The price was great for the tool – you get what you pay for. The drill is light and fits my hand well. The charging is fast and the batteries seem to hold a charge well. The hammer action is not as aggressive as other hammer drills I have owned but works well for cinder block and plaster; I don’t think it would be good on old concrete. Drill and fastening actions were more than adequate – it does a good job. The case for the drill is too large and takes up too much room – a tool bag would be better – I recycled the case and use a tool bag for the charger and drill. Makita should make the chargers smaller they are very large. All in all I was please with the product.

This is a great drill. It has plenty of power and has all the features you need. Has the work light, and the battery fuel gage. Also feels good in your hand BUT,,,,, there is a slight chuck wobble. And that is not expectable. I am shopping for a new drill right now.

I received this fine tool for Father’s Day. It was on one day Sale. I had my “old” 12V Makita Drill (in metal case) for over 25 years. Decided it’s time for a NEW Makita 18V Hammer Drill, Drill, Screwdriver so I mentioned it to my Wife, and she bought it for me. I know it is “Brushed Motor” but could not afford “Brushless” at two to three times the price. I love the fact that this model came with two batteries, in addition to a great Charger. Also it came in great heavy duty plastic case.This Makita XPH10R is easy to handle. Very powerful on high speed and gentle on lowest speed. The Hammer-Drill is truly a life saver, works great. I did not find any Drill wobble as others wrote about. The light is helpful but I wish it went in 360 degree around the chuck as my friend’s DeWalt. I’m just a Homeowner / DIY guy, so i’m sure this one will last 25 years, like my origional 12V Makita, which is still working. I Love my new Makita, I’m sure you will too !!
