Do more with less. The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Hammer Driver-Drill (model XPH11ZB, tool only, battery sold separately) is an ultra-compact drilling and driving solution with significantly less weight. The 18-Volt sub-compact hammer driver-drill is part of a new class of compact, with the size and weight of lower voltage tools but with the performance, power and compatibility of 18-Volt. The expansive breadth-of-line of the Makita 18-Volt LXT series means an 18-Volt battery from any LXT tool will power the 18-Volt sub-compact hammer driver-drill. The XPH11ZB has an efficient brushless motor with 2-speed settings and dual LED lights to illuminate the work area. At only 6-3/8 in. and 2.8 lbs. (with battery, sold separately) it is an ultra-compact drilling and driving solution with superior comfort and handling. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created star protection computer controls. Star protection is communication technology that allows the Star protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and compact lithium-ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating star protection inside.

Been using Mikita for 20 years. Love the small package with large power. The trigger is very sensitive and can be varied easily. The electric brake seems a bit excessive and sounds like it could cause damage to the tool, but we’ll see. I like the black color, I call it Darth Makita.

Good product, especially considering it’s size and weight, which is why I bought it. Love the multi-function that includes a hammer drill option. Not sure I’d do any heavy-duty work with this (might go to my larger cordless drill), but it’s nice to have. It’s a little difficult to control slower speeds–driving screws seems to be a bit tricky as the drill wants to ramp up to full speed, but that may just be a function of adapting to the trigger. Love that it came with two batteries. Would have been nice to have a built-in holder for a screwdriver bit like my DeWalt.

Awesome little drill. It is very powerful for its size. I coupled it with the smaller 18 v battery to minimize weight. Best drill I have ever owned so far. I have other drills Makita, Bosch, Dewan and Porter Cable. They are all good drills. This new Makita seem as powerful but lighter weight.

I’ve been a dewalt user for years. I bought this for its size to use in hvac service work. It’s downfall is the clutch. It keeps the tool from being able to partially “bury” a screw as you sometimes need to do.

This little powerhouse is fantastic .My only issue is the size of the charger. Please make a smaller one for the journeyman

Light and more comfortable but, provides less power with the same batteries than my older Makita.
