I had a very large fence project to complete. My old battery saw is heavy and as many cuts required holding the weight of the saw vertical I went looking for a lighter saw. As the Makita seemed to be the lightest full cut saw I purchased it from Home Depot. I could not possibly be more pleased with the new Makita. It is both powerful and light. The batteries seem to offer a significant increase in cuts per charge over the old saw. I highly recommend this saw. The quality is great and all the controls and adjustments, though pretty standard, have been refined for accuracy and ease of use. I particullarly like the drop down 45 degree stop. Very useful.

The tool works fine but the safety switch is not designed with left handed people in mind. I had some difficulty when making certain cuts and at odd angles being able to press the safety and pull the trigger. I am sure if it was a tool I used daily I could work it out but it seemed awkward so far.

Good medium duty drill. WARNING: Your old 18 volt batteries will not fit this as they engineered in a blocker. It’s solved by Dremel cutting a groove on old 18 volt batteries and they work well after.

I used this saw all day cutting electrical EMT conduit as well as threaded rod. It didn’t fail my expectations.I’m having to borrow the battery from my impact and driver set whenever needed which is the only drawback not having the battery included.

The only gripe or really downside that really doesn’t affect me as a new circular saw owner, is that most saws.. are on the right side of the handle. But this one is on the right side meaning if you’re left handed you’re golden. But as a right handed user I didn’t mind this all too much since I’ve never really used one until this one.
