Makita is the innovation leader in Brushless Motor technology and the 18-Volt LXT Brushless Hammer Driver-Drill (XPH12Z, tool only) combines power and run-time for more drilling, driving and fastening tasks in wood, metal and masonry. The efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor is electronically controlled and engineered for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. The variable 2-speed Brushless Motor delivers up to 2,000 RPM and 530 in. lbs. of MAX torque for efficient fastening. It weighs only 4.2 lbs. (with battery) with an LED light that illuminates the job area for applications in dark spaces. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. I have used d wall, but makita is a lot better

Love this drill. Have used hard for about 8 years so suppose it does not owe me any more. Gears finally stripped while driving deck screws. Fan for life.

Good product
Marley Cole (verified owner) –
Not too bad was kind of expensive and came with no battery
Claudine Durgan (verified owner) –
The relatively light weight makes it nice for use on ladders, and its price point takes some of the edge off when wet weather takes its toll.
Suzanne Gaylord (verified owner) –
It’s just what I was asking for.

The drill met all expectations – – having two spare batteries from a recent purchase of a Makita 36 volt circular saw sealed the deal. Charge life through heavy drilling and screwing is excellent, and the hammer feature is a great bonus.
Celia Greenholt (verified owner) –
Plenty of power and torque to drill into brick and concrete.
Juliana Blanda (verified owner) –
This is the perfect circular saw for me. Not too heavy, easy to use, and seems well made. I would definitely recommend it.
Filomena Mitchell (verified owner) –
Definitely gets the job done.

I own several Makita battery powered tools. I used the last drill so much, I wore it out!!!! I’m sure this one will last equally long!!

This circular saw not only met, but exceeded my expectations. I fully expected an underpowered battery hog that was too heavy to hang off of my tool belt. What I got was a lightweight circular saw, has a decent amount of power, and it doesn’t kill my batteries after two cuts.

nice saw lightweight without that cheap feeling .already had many other Makita 18 volt tools so just buying the tool instead of a kit is very cost effective. The electric brake is awesome-do not buy any circular saw without this feature

I’ve been using it to dismantle 1/16” stainless tubing with carbide blades and it just eats. Also used to to turn a geo metro into a convertible and the geo stood no chance. This saw was a great buy.
Maria Hermann (verified owner) –
Great saw, powwrful for a single 18v battery. Would buy again. Makita quality at it’s best.
Ora Hagenes (verified owner) –
Excellent
Hassie Hodkiewicz (verified owner) –
Worked great until it fell off a table onto a concrete floor and bent one of the brackets on the base. There’s no way to set the saw down without it falling over when it has a battery on it.
Deion Hartmann (verified owner) –
The Mikita saw is fine, but I contacted HD to see if the battery I had would work for this saw and was told “yes”. Well it didn’t fit so we had Toto buy a battery, also.
Lisette Frami (verified owner) –
very accurate, and the light weight makes for a very easy to use tool. the light weight and not having a cord helps with nice cuts. the markings on the cutting guide are easy to see while cutting.

Nice and smooth cutting and doing rips
