The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Autofeed Screwdriver (model XRF02Z, tool-only) delivers power and a high capacity range in a more compact size. The XRF02Z has an integrated autofeed design for less weight and more power and the extension handle makes it ideal for decking and sub-floor applications. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The XRF02Z has a powerful Makita-built 4-pole motor that delivers 4,000 RPM, with a high capacity range of 1 in. to 2-1/8 in. for collated screws. The silent clutch design uses higher durability materials, increasing operation efficiency and decreasing driver noise. The rugged aluminum dust-proof autofeed housing ensures smooth sliding action, while the screw guide prevents the screw strip from tangling and can fold against the autofeed housing for storing and carrying.

I call this tool MAKUZIE its like an uzie keeps firing as fast as you can screw.Tool is a must have for your makita arsonal collection.Tool performed better than i expected. But thats expected with quality built products built by makita . It gets the job done in more than half the time. The gun is easy to use well balanced and light. The self feeding colated screws make it easy when doing over head drywall or screwing in to walls or floors. So easy you want to keep screwing more & more. I did whole kitchen 20 x20 drywall and the battery was still 3/4 fully charged. On a 5 amp battery.I recomend this tool. It will make you save alot of time on a job, and we all know time is money. So save time and make more money if you are doing alot of screwing in wood & drywall.

Lightweight and easy to use. There isn’t a setting for 1 5/8″ screws but I was able to adjust it easily enough.

Does a great job. Way easier than dragging around a cord. I will say that it uses more battery than I would expect from Makita but if you have at least two batteries and a good charger you’ll be fine. Doesn’t have a setting for 1 5/8 screws but has enough adjustment its not a problem. Order extra bits because no one carries them in a store. We just hung over 8000 feet of sheet rock and no problems.

Good quality collated screw gun. Can sometimes miss fire and get a screw jammed in the nose of the gun which is a pain. Also the depth set can be a bit difficult to judge correctly. Overall it works well and gets the screws in fast.

Used for home improvement, no idea how it would work commercially. + quick install, no cord, drives set depth consistently. – learning curve (must hold trigger in, Before contact w screw), does not fit replacement heads available at HD, used collated strip can get in the way on angles.

This is my first ever tool review. I am a pro and I own tons of tools. Some good, some not so good. I don’t buy cheap tools but sometimes “good” tools are not that good. Years ago I spent over $400 on an auto screw gun kit (now under license by Simpson strong tite?) and still hate it. Continually Jammed and if you didn’t hold it perfectly straight and steady you’d drive a screw sideways. Now the Makita. This tool is a dream. A pure pleasure to use! I bought this last year and didn’t really put it to the test until last month. Small remodel job with added wall, 5 sheets of drywall and a lot of holes to move light fixtures, plumbing and HVAC ducts. Could not be happier! I’m right handed and not ambidextrous yet could drive a screw perfectly left handed! Be careful though… I found myself like a kid again with my first ever nail gun… Driving way too many fasteners. It’s really that good!If you’re already on the Makita 18v platform and have to do drywall work and repairs this is a must have. Battery life is good. I recommend at least a 4 amh battery. I almost finished all the screws with a 5 amh battery. Drove over 800 screws. Light weight and not tethered to a cord is a huge plus. Belt hook is a plus too. Once you get the depth adjusted (not difficult), nearly every screw is perfect. I had a few under driven but I adjusted it very close. I don’t like over driven screws. Too be expected, even with a drill, impact driver or regular screw gun. Did have 2 jams but more my fault for reaching too far or maybe hitting a hard not in a stud. Not hard to clear jams. This tool exceeded all expectations. A joy to use. Highly recommended. Huge time saver.

Great timesaver just hung 12 12′ sheets with one 5amp hour battery today. Nice intergrated hook on side of tool.
