The 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless 1 in. Rotary Hammer (model XRH01Z, tool only) features a Makita BL Brushless Motor Technology for up to 50% longer run time. The XRH01Z is the industry’s first 1 in. capacity rotary hammer in the 18-Volt cordless category. Its part of Makita expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. This Promotion also comes with a bonus BL1850B 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery.

Recently I made the leap into the Makita 18v lineup. So far the demo hammer has helped install an egress window, chip up 800 sq ft of tile, replace a basement drain, drill into concrete walls and floors, install literally hundreds of tapcons, etc. Every tool has its pros and cons the key is learning the quirks of each tool. My problem is that I accidentally turned the setting knob the wrong way and it popped out (my old demo hammer had the release on the opposite side). After recovering from my heart-attack I put some makita grease in there and pushed the knob back in the same way it came out… I haven’t made that mistake again! Now that I’m used to the new setup I’m really enjoying it. Works great! My only other recommendations would be to have some 5amp hr batteries and maybe try to get a hard case. I bought one online (it was supposed to be for drills and impacts but I modified it with my tinsnips). That’s everything I can think of so far.. Good luck.

This battery lasts so much longer than the battery that came with my drill. I was able to mix 5 buckets of concrete without even draining 1 bar of battery

This batter was bought to replace the original battery that quit after two charge phase. So far this one has taken one charge and is working OK. But the original battery went to Makita for replacement and I haven’t received the replacement yet. I would rate higher but so far I am seeing a 25% failure and that is not accecptable.
