The Makita 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Brushless 1-9/16 in. Advanced AVT Rotary Hammer with AWS is a cordless concrete solution thats loaded with advanced engineering for maximum efficiency. Its equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) for wireless connectivity with an AWS-equipped dust extractor (sold separately), and features Advanced AVT for reduced vibration. Its powered by two 18-Volt LXT batteries and an efficient brushless motor for maximum power, speed and run-time for corded demands, without the cord. The XRH07PTU is engineered with Advanced Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT), a synchronized three-component system for significantly less vibration. AVT is more than just a padded handle. The three-component system includes an internal counterbalance that uses air pressure to move counterweight pistons in the opposite direction of the drive piston to actively reduce vibration. The result is a low vibration rating of only 5m/s, but with no compromise in performance: The efficient brushless motor delivers a full 8.4 ft./lbs. of impact energy, with 250-500 RPM and 1,450-2,900 BPM. For improved efficiency, its equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology. AWS utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately). When the trigger of the AWS-equipped XRH07PTU is engaged, the AWS-equipped dust extractor powers-up. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down.

Tried two impact wrenches (a small Makita and big not known brand) many times to remove freeze suspension bolts on my car but to no avail. So bought Makita’s highest torque 1/2″ impact wrench and with just one try and a few seconds was able to remove the bolts to my amazement and relief.I did not even set it yet to its highest torque since I’m might strip/break the bolt head.Although it is heavy and more expensive than the equivalent Milwaukee and Dewalt 1/2″ impact wrenches, I still bought this since I already have a lot of Makita 18v tools and batteries, I might as well stick with just one brand of tools only.

I would give it 5 stars, but it is NOT “made in Japan” as the picture and descriptions elsewhere indicate. Apparently now (5/31/2019) the tool says “assembled in USA” (not even made in USA which implies they took parts made in other countries (China?!?) and just assembled it in the US). Still, not a bad tool, and in fairness, I couldn’t tell any quality difference between this one and a made in Japan one I bought locally at a tool store. Only two outside visible differences: 1. the Japan made label is not glossy while the assembled in USA label is very glossy (like the cheaper Makita stuff in the Home Depot store, boo)2. the rubber collar on the US version is made from a slightly different mold and has a different part number. It is still probably TPE, but I can’t remove it to see. See pic below.3. slight difference in the casted head; seems on the Japan version they did a better job smoothing the seam.With some slight outside differences, I’d rather keep the Japan version as it’s the one I’ve seen measured on Youtube, and I know it is the best 1/2″ impact money can buy. I have no doubt the newer assembled in USA version will perform as well.Returning the tool though as it is a lot of money to not be made in Japan as was shown in the image. Sorry, but I want it to match my made in Japan XDT012. Don’t care for the glossy label either.
