The XRJ03Z has a high torque motor with a 1-1/8 in. stroke that is engineered for a range of cutting and demolition tasks. The XRJ03Z features a Makita-built high torque motor with a 1-1/8 in. stroke that cuts 0-2,900 strokes per minute (SPM) for faster cutting. The XRJ03Z has a maximum cutting depth of 5-1/8 in. for pipe, and 10 in. into wood (using a 12 in. blade). The XRJ03Z is engineered for the pro that wants more features, and is perfect for a range of applications including plumbing, flooring, electrical, demolition, and for general contractors. The XMT03Z is engineered with additional features like reduced vibration and lower noise for improved performance, and is ideal for cutting, sanding, scraping, grout removal, and more. The XMT03Z delivers up to 20 minutes of run time with Makita’s fast-charging 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah battery (sold separately). The variable speed control dial (6,000 – 20,000 OPM) and soft start feature enable the user to match the speed to the application with more control, and the 3.2° oscillation angle is engineered for faster, more aggressive cutting and sanding. The XMT03Z features an L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area, with a small diameter barrel grip for improved handling, a large on/off slide switch with lock-on button, and adapters to fit most competitive accessories. First use was to cut down a dead tree. Took three battery recharges, but it did the job, including the trimming the branches/trunks into firewood/kindling pieces. Not an ideal use for this product, but it did the job.Went on to cut conduit, wallboard, and many other tasks. It gets a bit warm after 60 seconds or more of continuous sawing, but it is still working well.Blade that comes with it is cheap. Buy high quality replacement blades ahead of time, you’ll be glad you did.

I have been plumbing for 30 years and seen the cordless tools develop into what they are today, and i have to say this has as much power as a lot of corded reciprocal saws!! I have a Dewalt 18v sawzall and this saw has a lot more power !! the only other one i have used with this much power is the Milwaukee 18v.I need tools i can depend on to get the job done and this Makita saw is one such tool.
