Makita, a pioneer in brushless motor technology and battery innovation, combines both in the 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Lithium-Ion Brushless Recipro Saw Kit. It’s powered by two 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries for 36-Volt power and performance and has an electronically controlled BL Brushless motor that matches torque and RPM to the application. Makita 18-Volt X2 means freedom from the cord, even for demanding applications like cutting and demolition that traditionally called for a corded reciprocal saw. Best of all, users can remain in one battery platform, using the same fast-charging 18-Volt batteries on the XRJ06M as they use across the Makita 18-Volt LXT cordless tool line-up.
- Powerful BL brushless motor delivers 0-3,000 (metal cutting) and 0-2,300 (wood cutting) strokes per minute for faster cutting
- Long 1-1/4 in. stroke length provides increased cutting efficiency
- (2) 18-Volt LXT Lithium-ion batteries deliver the power and performance of a corded recipro saw without leaving the 18-Volt LXT platform (batteries not included)
- Refined crank mechanism design minimizes blade deflection and reduces vibration
- BL brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the BL motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life
- Efficient BL brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge
- Electronically controlled BL brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application
- Large 2-finger variable speed trigger for operator convenience
- Tool-less blade change system allows for faster blade installation and removal for increased productivity
- Electric brake for maximum productivity
- Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions
- Rubberized soft grip handle provides increased comfort on the job
- Built-in LED light with preglow and afterglow illuminate the work area
- Reinforced fixed shoe for added durability
- Retractable tool hook secures the tool when not in use
- Ergonomic design at only 17-3/4 in. L
- Weighs only 10.2 lbs. with battery (battery not included) for reduced operator fatigue
- Equipped with star protection computer controls to protect against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating

The first saw that I received not only quit on the second use, but also shorted out 4 of my batteries. Customer service over the phone didn’t believe me and I had to go to an authorized repair facility that confirmed my findings. Currently am waiting on replacements for 4+weeks. 2nd saw works well..

What a great reciprocating saw. This is a very well built strong recipro saw with some great features. I love the quick blade attach and deattach function. Just twist the chuck and the blade is released, and snap in a new blade without any allen wrenches or twist tighteners or the such. The saw itself uses 2 LI batteries making it quite powerful. I did not notice any difference with this one and my corded (120VAC) version of that saw. The saw itself is a heavily built saw which will certainly take plenty of abuse and use before ever falling apart. It has 2 levels of speed which make it nice, each level also still uses the finger trigger speed control too. The middle level of the speed switch shuts it off so you do not accidentally start it when not ready. The ONLY problem I found with this kit was the charter. It is a large 2 battery charger, and takes up lots of space on your work bench. It has NO mounting holes or methods to mount it on a wall. I currently have at least 10 other battery tools with 100% of the chargers supplied having a wall mount option. I seriously cannot believe they forgot to make a couple mounting holes in the charger for this kit. Wow. I would have given it 5 stars if the charger had mounting holes. What an oversight that is.

Great saw. Love the two speed options. A little heavy but worth it for the power.

I was expecting more but I think it’s just like any other

Great saw a little bottom heavy but got use to it after a couple of hrs. Keep the blade nice and sharp and it will cut like butter

So far so good. Feels like a corded saw. Cut through 100 year old subfloor with ease.

Very powerful cuts through thick metal with Diablo carbide thick metal blades

My only complaint is no adjustable foot.

The 1st one we got was actually faulty and didn’t work but we were able to exchange it with no problems and the 2nd one works like a dream.

I simply can’t find anything wrong with this saw………except maybe the price……………………………………………This is an unbiased review that is unaffected by the fact that I received this product for free. As proof of impartiality, just click on my nickname and see the average of the ratings I have given for over 200 reviews to date.==== First impressions ====Heavy, heavy, heavy box. I am guessing the saw is heavy. There was a set of blades included along with a single sample blade packed separately. $$$$$ alert! I think I see this same saw available online with two extra batteries for the SAME price so make sure to check on that before you purchase it.==== Operation ====My saw came with the batteries already attached and charged to 40% for safe storage. I inserted the single sample blade with just a push and a click and was ready to go. There is a multifunction switch on the unit that locks the trigger off and also selects the speed (hi or low). Slide the actuator left or right or leave it in the middle. The tool uses two 18 volt batteries. The charger is simple to use. Just slide in the battery(s) and leave it. The lights will indicate a variety of symptoms. There are no provisions for hanging the charger on a wall. There is really nothing different about this reciprocating saw. It operates just as any other. I found it to have a lot of power for a battery operated tool. It has a small hi-power LED light to illuminate the work but is barely visible in daylight. I suppose it would help a lot in the dark but…… I easily cut a 2×6 piece of pine lumber and a 1/2′ iron pipe. Neither revealed any issues. Did I mention that the tool is heavy?A large carrying bag is included. It is large enough to hold the saw and charger. It has 4 inside pockets and 6 outside pockets. It has a cloth handle but no shoulder strap, even though there are loops for one.==== Summary ====Heavy tool. Powerful as a corded tool. Two speeds. Large carrying bag. Dual batteries. Expensive.

Although requires two 18volt batteries, the weight is still not bad. Excellent cutting capabilities and smooth running. I love it!
