Makita, a pioneer in brushless motor technology and battery innovation, combines both in the 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Lithium-Ion Brushless Recipro Saw Kit. It’s powered by two 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries for 36-Volt power and performance and has an electronically controlled BL Brushless motor that matches torque and RPM to the application. Makita 18-Volt X2 means freedom from the cord, even for demanding applications like cutting and demolition that traditionally called for a corded reciprocal saw. Best of all, users can remain in one battery platform, using the same fast-charging 18-Volt batteries on the XRJ06M as they use across the Makita 18-Volt LXT cordless tool line-up.
- Powerful BL brushless motor delivers 0-3,000 (metal cutting) and 0-2,300 (wood cutting) strokes per minute for faster cutting
- Long 1-1/4 in. stroke length provides increased cutting efficiency
- (2) 18-Volt LXT Lithium-ion batteries deliver the power and performance of a corded recipro saw without leaving the 18-Volt LXT platform (batteries not included)
- Refined crank mechanism design minimizes blade deflection and reduces vibration
- BL brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the BL motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life
- Efficient BL brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge
- Electronically controlled BL brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application
- Large 2-finger variable speed trigger for operator convenience
- Tool-less blade change system allows for faster blade installation and removal for increased productivity
- Electric brake for maximum productivity
- Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions
- Rubberized soft grip handle provides increased comfort on the job
- Built-in LED light with preglow and afterglow illuminate the work area
- Reinforced fixed shoe for added durability
- Retractable tool hook secures the tool when not in use
- Ergonomic design at only 17-3/4 in. L
- Weighs only 10.2 lbs. with battery (battery not included) for reduced operator fatigue
- Equipped with star protection computer controls to protect against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating

Does the job, great battery life. As good as a Milwaukee

This is a heavy duty reciprocating saw that uses two 18 volt batteries. It comes with a dual battery charger and a spacious heavy-duty carrying bag. I have a Makita corded reciprocating saw using 120V AC. The battery powered saw is similar in construction though the batteries make it heavier than the 120V saw. I cannot distinguish between the two saws in operation. The charger is novel in that it has a built in fan that turns on during battery charging.

Very well built. I love the blade holder that stays open to easily insert a different blade. The two speeds are good for cutting different materials. Batteries last about 3-4 hours of heavy use, but will recharge both in 45 minutes with the dual charger. I have bought many other Makita tools.

This is makes short work of any cutting job. Works very well.

The only thing wrong with this saw is it is heavy. Other then that it is everything my old Tiger (heavy too) saw was just without any cord to drag around. The belt/rafter hook is a great addition. This is my 5th x2 Makita tool I think it is a great system.

Home Depot has the best customer service you can get. That being said, This sawzall is by far one of the best you can get!! Makita tools are far superior to any other brand. Makita tools last forever. I have one of the first lithium ion cordless drills they ever made from 2007 and it still operates battery too. No comparison to what they make today. i just wish they expaned there cordless tools for other trades (Plumbers) lol

As I am getting older by the minute it seems, I was getting tired off hauling miles of cords to run my saw, for areas where a recipro saw was needed, Well Markita has done it again, made a saw that I can carry , in a carrying case which is an added bonus, Having a saw with power, but easy to run has made my work day so much nicer,Having the extra blades for various projects within reach was also a plus.

Good saw for the price with 2 batteries bonus

Worth the price just for the batteries and charger. The 5 Ah batteries cost about $100 each and a dual charger is over $100 by itself. I try to stay loyal to Makita because I like their tools, but also because I don’t want to end up with 50 different chargers like my father, but because so many of their cordless tools come without batteries, I only had 2 batteries to run about 5 tools. Purchasing this kit is the cheapest way that I could find to get more batteries and a dual port charger. The tool is basically free at this price. I already had a corded Makita saw like this, but certainly don’t mind having a cordless one too. 5 ah batteries are the longest lasting batteries that Makita carries (to my knowledge).

So far have been very happy with this saw. I was debating between corded and cordless, and this has more than enough power. Definitely very happy with the purchase

This was for Father’s Day, but I gave it to him 2 weeks early and he has used it almost every day since. Seems like it was the perfect gift
