I found it to be strong, durable, and reliable. Sound quality is excellent. Its compact size is a plus for me as I have to travel a lot and haul all my tools. Although this does not charge the Makita battery, I find that fact insignificant as I have a lot of chargers

There are a few things that are wrong with the current radio that I have. I just purchased a few days ago from home depot and plan to return it. The first is that the ac power cord that comes with the unit is an indoor only power cord. I am an exterior carpenter and dont enjoy having to switch the batteries constantly. The radio does not charge batteries, which is important when I have limited outlets to work with. Milwaukee and dewalt both have radios that charge the battery while it is playing music so why cant makita do the same, and all being pretty close to the same price. The one I am using now has had a power fail and goes through fully charged 5 amp/hour batteries in under three hours with the volume set at 15 (pretty quiet). I am hoping that its not a normal thing and that maybe mine is defective. Sound quality is good, no problems with distortion from what i have heard. For the price, $140 is steep for this radio. I havent seen anything on here that would make it a necessary purchase. If I have to plug it in all the time, I might as well buy a cheap radio for $50 and save myself the money.

Very well made and easy to operate. Sounds better with the loudness function OFF. With it turned on the bass distorts to easily. Nice hi fidelity sound for it’s size. Lots of handy features.

Really nice sounding. Seems durable so far. Disappointed that I had to buy a separate battery and it would not charge. Also wish the cord stored in the radio. Those are the only two negatives
