The kit includes an efficient Rapid Optimum Charger and an 18V LXT 4.0Ah battery which reaches a full charge in only 40 minutes – the fastest charge-time in the category – for less downtime and increased productivity. The efficient brushless motor delivers up to 6,000 RPM for faster cutting. The XRU11Z is equipped with Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically shifts from 4,000-6,000 RPM depending on the density of the application. There are three speed options (4,000/5,000/6,000 RPM), allowing users to match the speed to the application. Additional features include a full 11-3/4 In. cutting swath, an easy-loading bump-and-feed trimmer head, and reverse rotation that allows users to quickly clear the head of entangled grass and weeds. The XRU11Z accepts industry standard M8x1.25 LH spindles. The XRU11M1 features Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT).

Wife originally ordered the $99 Makita trimmer. Returned it and was supposed to get a $20 coupon,but coupon or no, got this instead. SPEND THE EXTRA $50! So worth it! I used a 5 amp battery on mostly low speed for 45 minutes and still had juice enough to sink a bunch of 2 1/2″ deck screws. It is a little longer and better balanced, so much easier on your back. 2 heavier strings instead of 1 lighter one, cut much better. Bump and feed didn’t clog up with debris. I should never need a gas trimmer again.

The tool is great, the assembly instructions are missing a step related to installation of the receiving washer. Cost me a bit of time to remove the head and back track. It is a simple but costly omission which could result in damage.

It is a MAKITA. You make good tools . That is why l purchasedthe trimmer. Had to take back because it was made for a left hander. Iam rt handed bought model 13Z spins clockwise. Other was blowing grass and debris at my left leg. Using right hand to hold trigger. Waiting for delivery around 9/1
