18v makita string trimmer, very happy with this product. For normal weed eating works great quite and light. Mowed down some weeds that where 3′ tall with some thick stems, took a little to cut the thick stems but it did it. Battery stayed charged through both times I used it.Would recommend this product.

This trimmer was easy to assemble and has plenty of power. Our old cheap trimmer took 2 batteries ( if they were fairly new and you were quick) to trim a one acre lot. This trimmer does it on a half a battery. I would give it five stars but the string shield is far too small. The old trimmer covered half the circle that the string turns in. Over the winter I’ll take the guard off the old trimmer and put it on this new one. I also liked the idea that the battery on this trimmer will work on most all their other tools.

very good trimmer

Nice trimmer. Love the no gas to mix and use. Buy extra batteries for it though…..atleast two additional 4ah batteries are needed to trim the average size lawn.

My wife wanted to be able to help me out with some more yard work (she already has her own yard tractor) and wanted a lighter, easier to start weed trimmer so I got her this Makita. She is very happy and finds it light enough for her, easy to get going and uses it often. Now she will start taking it with her to her mothers house to help there. Glad to have such a useful tool and helping wife!

Doesn’t come with instructions on how to put it together. I had to find a youtube on it. The youtube guy was okay except that the parts that were questionable he glossed over. Got it eventully. Super easy to maneuver. Worked great on the weeds and edges. I spent close to an hour with it and didn’t run out of battery. It mentioned in the paper work that its best to run the battery all the way down and then charge it. It’s not that loud and it has 3 speeds. It also comes with a strap and safety glasses. Definitly wear the safety glasses. The only thing that happened unexpectedly was that the spool fell off. I screwed it back on. I put it away after that because it got late on me. I read on the youtube comments that someone kept having that happen. Oh, and the line seemed to be the same length as when I started. I’m glad I took a chance on it.

A bit weak compared to gas powered, but easy to use and reliable. Satisfied.

This electric weed eater runs like & almost sounds like a gas motor, except quieter. It has a lot of torque and if you have enough batteries, it will go as far as you need!

Great product to add to my Makita 18v powertrain! Powerful and ideal for average weedeater work. ~45 min run time on 4 amp battery. Bought for my wife who cant handle my Stihl KM56. However, i have put more hours on this Makita around my place than she has since i bought it! No drawbacks to note and that’s saying alot from me and my first battery powered lawn product!
