The string trimmer is ideal for precision trimming and edging. It features an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The kit includes an efficient charger and an 18-Volt LXT 4.0 Ah battery which reaches a full charge in only 40-minutes the fastest charge-time in the category for less downtime and increased productivity. The efficient brushless motor delivers up to 6,000 RPM for faster cutting. The XRU12SM1 is equipped with Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically shifts from 4,000-6,000 RPM depending on the density of the application. There are 3-speed options (4,000/5,000/6,000 RPM), allowing users to match the speed to the application. The easy-loading bump-and-feed trimmer head is compatible with 0.08 in. or 0.095 in. line and offers reverse rotation allowing users to quickly clear the head of entangled grass and weeds. Makita string trimmer line works well with our trimmer. The line fits on the spool and through the feeds easily. Using it we found that the point pattern designed into the string resulted in better cutting than the smooth string lines we’ve used in the past. Also its not as thick as some of the other trimmer line available, but it seems to us that the thinner line actually works better. This product is Made in the U.S.A.

Doesn’t come with instructions on how to put it together. I had to find a youtube on it. The youtube guy was okay except that the parts that were questionable he glossed over. Got it eventully. Super easy to maneuver. Worked great on the weeds and edges. I spent close to an hour with it and didn’t run out of battery. It mentioned in the paper work that its best to run the battery all the way down and then charge it. It’s not that loud and it has 3 speeds. It also comes with a strap and safety glasses. Definitly wear the safety glasses. The only thing that happened unexpectedly was that the spool fell off. I screwed it back on. I put it away after that because it got late on me. I read on the youtube comments that someone kept having that happen. Oh, and the line seemed to be the same length as when I started. I’m glad I took a chance on it.

I have solar use it only three time since purchased, it work very smooth compare to other brand that I have tried before this. It is light and that allow for better control, but suprisignly with it light weight it operate so stable and enough power to do any average size yard. The 4Amh battery is a big plus, I have finish all of my yard work and the batter is still 90% full. I guess this trimmer will have no issue running a very large yard or three to five home in one charge.Highly recommended!

I received this and tried it in my Echo string trimmer.The package is split along the circumference so the string can be unwound easily. That way it won’t get tangled.The string is a twisted type string..I used the string to trim along a fence and edge along my driveway.I found it easy to use and it seemed to last well. I like it for a .080” line.

This is a nice long lasting string that cuts grass nice and clean. I like the packaging that the string comes in as there is a Hole in the packaging in the back that lets you just feed the line through and the spool inside the package rotates as you pull it. No having to attach the line to a notch, or having to tape it down on the spool. It worked well in my trimmer.
