The 18-Volt LXT Brushless Cordless 5-7/8 in. Metal Cutting Saw delivers faster metal cutting through Unistrut, all thread, channel, corrugated, conduit, pipe, sheet metal, square tubing, steel and more. With a full 2-1/4 in. cutting capacity, it is ideal for electrical contractors as it will cut 2 conduit in 1 pass a huge time saver. It includes a transparent chip collector box to capture cutting debris. The brushless motor is engineered for efficiency and in run-time testing the Saw made up to 125 cuts per charge in 1 SCH 40 pipe using an 18-Volt 5.0 Ah battery. Makita offers optimum 5-7/8 in. blade options for use with the XSC02M: 32T carbide tipped for metal and general purpose, 52T for thin metal, 52T for aluminum, and 60T for stainless steel (all sold separately). Its part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

Great charger. Charge time listed by Makita was pretty accurate. Easy to attach/remove the batteries. Lights were clear on the status of the charge. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the amount of plastic that this product was made of, but I don’t see any durability issues with that. Same as other brands for their charging stations as well so I guess that’s the industry standard.

Bought the charger and battery at the same time I purchased a small blower. The blower is very lightweight which makes it easy for my wife to use. The charger recharges the battery in about a half hour. The battery eats the charge pretty fast. I would recommend buying a second battery.

This batter was bought to replace the original battery that quit after two charge phase. So far this one has taken one charge and is working OK. But the original battery went to Makita for replacement and I haven’t received the replacement yet. I would rate higher but so far I am seeing a 25% failure and that is not accecptable.

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.
