The 18-Volt LXT Brushless Cordless 5-7/8 in. Metal Cutting Saw delivers faster metal cutting through Unistrut, all thread, channel, corrugated, conduit, pipe, sheet metal, square tubing, steel and more. with a full 2-1/4 in. cutting capacity, it is ideal for electrical contractors as it will cut 2 in. conduit in 1 pass a huge time saver. It includes a transparent chip collector box to capture cutting debris. The brushless motor is engineered for efficiency and in run-time testing the Saw made up to 125 cuts per charge in 1 in. SCH 40 pipe using an 18-Volt 5.0 Ah battery. Makita offers optimum 5-7/8 in. blade options for use with the XSC02M: 32T carbide tipped for metal and general purpose, 52T for thin metal, 52T for aluminum and 60T for stainless steel (all sold separately). Its part of Makitas expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Home Depot needs to carry the 5A Battery in their stores and not have to order off their website. This battery is so much better than the 3A Batteries they carry in their stores. The physical size of the 3A, 4A & 5A are all the same. Given that fact, why not get the Battery that will last the longest.

This batter was bought to replace the original battery that quit after two charge phase. So far this one has taken one charge and is working OK. But the original battery went to Makita for replacement and I haven’t received the replacement yet. I would rate higher but so far I am seeing a 25% failure and that is not accecptable.
