The 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Drywall Screwdriver (model XSF03R) breaks new ground for drywall contractors. It’s powered by a Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. With the exclusive Push Drive Technology, the 18-Volt Drywall Screwdriver can be set on lock-on mode so the motor starts only when the fastener is engaged. This gives contractors a quieter work environment and also saves on battery power. It’s built for added durability with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), which is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh job site conditions. It is ideal for hanging sheetrock, metal framing, installing subfloors, backer board and decking applications. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

I love my Makita battery powered tool performance so I won’t compromise using a cheaper vrand of battery.

I am amazed at two things with this battery. First is how quickly it recharges, and second. I get a ton of use out of it.

I regret I didn’t buy this Makitia battery the first time around, instead I wasted my money on a poor performing no-name brand (stopped charging altogther!) online..

Very impressed with this gun, I have a corded one, but I had to work on a scaffold and did not want the cord to be a hazard. Well balanced and nice to use.

Works fine. Charges quickly. Message to manufacturer – why use red lights to show charge? That through me initially. I thought I had it all charged up. When I checked, it gave me 4 red lights. I thought red indicated not charged – I’m used to green. However, it is fully charged when all 4 red lights appear.

I’ve been doing sheeteock work for decades. (Not full time, but ive done it a lot!) in the old days, we used hammer and nails. Then we upgraded to screws with a corless or corded drill. Then we went to impact drivers and then to the sheetrock screw gun with clutch. With each progression there was a marked improvement in time saving. But nothing compares to the ease and speed of this drywall screw gun with clutch. Everytime i use it im as giddy as a school girl. Haha. This is the only way to go for any professional who installs sheetrock.

Great name brand drill to have. I replaced the Makita I had for more than a decade just because the battery was outdated.

Great screw gun! Pros: Quiet, Cordless is great, 2 belt clip locations, Easy depth setting adjustment, and did I say cordlessCons: Depth adjustment is easy to grab accidentally when you pick it up wrong to mess up your depth setting. Needs a lock of some sort
