This MAKITA 18-VOLT LXT LITHIUM-ION BRUSHLESS CORDLESS 2 GAL. HEPA FILTER PORTABLE WET/DRY DUST EXTRACTOR/VACUUM, TOOL ONLY is a great tool for keeping my house clean. I attached an old straight extension from a vacuum cleaner and I use it to suck up dust bunnies, pet food, pet hair, and debris from the yard that always gets tracked in. Great to just grab it and use it since the battery stays charged forever.

This is a review for the 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2 Gal. HEPA Filter Portable Wet/Dry Dust Extractor/Vacuum, Tool Only. Since it is tool only, you will need a Makita 18 volt battery for it. It does not have a 120v connection. This is a pretty nice vacuum. I was a little worried about the hose at first glance, but it really stretches far. There are spots on the top to attach a shoulder strap. Dinged the rating one star because you almost have to have it and it is not included. There are two suction speeds. I pretty much just used the highest setting all the time. It comes with a crevice tool and wider attachment for regular vacuuming. I like the crevice tool because you can really get into tight spaces. It is a little weird the first time you empty the vac, because the bin has a lip around three of the four sides, so you have to look for the smooth side to get everything out.

The vacuum is lightweight. I’ve been on a job that doesn’t have electricity yet so the fact that it is battery powered is great. It seems to have a good amount of suction power. The hepa filter makes it useful for jobs where a GC is big on “silica” awareness and containment.

Battery run is the way to go for mobility and quick in getting the job done. Awesome for that final phase touch up work at the end of a project. Washable HEPA filter is nice; saves money on filters, especially HEPA type. The 6 ft long hose is of quality material and pops back in place neatly which isn’t the case with most. It’s a well designed product and takes the hassle out of keeping a project area clean.
