The 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 2,500 RPM Drywall Screwdriver (model XSF04Z, tool only, batteries and charger sold separately) breaks new ground in high demand applications. It’s powered by a Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. With the exclusive Push Drive Technology, the 18-Volt 2,500 RPM Screwdriver can be set on lock-on mode so the motor starts only when the fastener is engaged. This gives contractors a quieter work environment and also saves on battery power. It’s built for added durability with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), which is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh job site conditions. It is ideal for hanging sheetrock, metal framing, installing subfloors, backer board and decking applications. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.

I recommend this but don’t at the same time. Depending on how much you’re using it. I am a framer/drywaller. I just purchased and tried this gun. My opinion is that it needs more RPM’s. I felt that I had to push a little harder for the screws to go in. It’ll work just fine if you’re not hanging tons of drywall daily, like me. The extra effort adds up by the end of the day. I’m going to order the last model. Better price, more speed. I also realized that this model doesn’t have the battery life lights. A little inconvinient.Fyi. There’s a difference in models. Xsf04(drywall) and xsf04 (hex head driver)The nose cones are different sizes.

The other reviewers didn’t like the speed of the install because they are professional drywall installers, but this screwgun is slower for a reason. You can also use it for installing timber screws and such. Building a deck with one of these makes all kind of sense. If you think you will use it to install things other than drywall alone, get this screwgun. It’s great.
